Can anyone tell me if this camera is a good place to start with digital.
I would like to find one that will allow me to set it up and not have the time delay you get when a digital is doing it's one metering.
I have found this one on Amazon and it seems like a good deal at £199.99

I found these reviews:

Just by skimming the reviews they seem to say it is "not the worst cam"

It is fairly old. Produced in 2003. Or at least introduced...? That is about the time I bought my Sony 717 which had one of the fastest shutter lag for a point and shoot (or pro-sumer camera). But that was back then. These new mini cams @ $200 might be faster. An acceptable shutter lag time is a very important part of enjoying a camera.

Thanks for that
I think i will give it a miss and save up for a Nikon D50 :thumbsup2

Maybe some others can offer some help. I pretty much only know the two cameras I have owned. A sony 717 and now the Canon Rebel XT. Two days ago we got a Canon S2 for Marcie. It was $375 at Best Buy. It is a very fast shutter for point and shoot. I have not used it yet but she is impressed so far. It is very cute, we call it the XT Jr! It has 12x zoom and Image Stabilization as well. And the saving money goal is much sooner.
