So, we are weighing all our options and curious is anyone has any pros/cons of maybe tent camping in October??

We don't tent camp. but from our experience, the weather in Oct. is generally pretty good.

and so is the fishing, :thumbsup2

I also think October is the best time to camp at FW. Bring a fan and a blanket. There are usually little to no bugs, very little rain.

October has become a popular time to go especially around Haloween, it fills up pretty quick around then. Its almost like Christmas with decorations and good weather..

That's what I noticed. I couldn't find any open spots on the Disney site so I called this morning and was able to go ahead and make a reservation. I figure this way, its reserved in case we do get to go this year. If things come up (we are halfway expecting a wedding and a funeral this year) then I can reschedule our trip and keep my deposit $ safe. I'd rather be book and able to reschedule than wait it out and them be full.

As of this morning, we are camping Oct 13-21st! :woohoo:

Yep, October is pretty sweet weather-wise. Like April-May in the spring. You'll enjoy it.

We were just there this last October. We tent camped but since my gang isnt into that as much as I am I had a space heater. It worked great and all were comfortable. The park weather was beautiful. could have been 5 degrees warmer but overall I would take that over blistering heat. I would do it all over again (and will when the budget allows) I would forgo one day at the park and do the Halloween party only that day. The website implies it is an extra ticket but if you just come for the party you just need to buy for the party. They say the party starts at 7 but we got in at 4pm with that ticket.
If you try to do the pool too late in the day you will have kid-sicles. Bring sweatshirts and blankets to the sing-a-long and movie.

Thank you!! These are really great ideas and comments! We did know about the early entry and that's what we are hoping to do. I really hope we get to go this year!!
