Anybody been to the Fort Wilderness Sing-a-long with Chip and Dale? How was it?

wonderful, one of my kids favorite things at Disney.......they are 4, 8, 9......have gone every year we go at least once......

I don't know why you couldn't! When we went (December 04) they didn't check room keys or anything!

We enjoyed it -- we did the campfire and sing-a-long but didn't stay for the movie (I think we were too tired). You can buy marshmallows, etc to roast there or take your own (I took a bag of marshmallows but packed them in our suitcase and they weren't really edible -- not really smushed but the texture was affected by being in the luggage area of the plane...)

Chip and Dale are the only characters. The campfire is open to anyone. It is really a lot of fun. The sing a longs with Ms Sundee are just the best! Even my 15 and 12 year old still love it!

A agree , it really is a lot of fun. We also go just to the sing-a-long , make some s'mores and head out before the movie starts. We live close by and have gone over to FW just to enjoy the campfire.

Are there any characters there besides Chip and Dale?

Yes... her name is Ms Sundee and she is quite a character :teeth:

Seriously... this is one of the most family oriented outdoors activities you have ever been to. It helps to be a little silly and have a sense of humor.

Okay, bigdisneydaddy, I guess there are really three characters. How could we leave Ms Sundee out??? ;)

I think I read on allearsnet that in May it starts at 8 p.m. and lasts about 40 minutes. Is that right?

My DD 12, asked me yesterday if we could make time to go to the sing-a-long when we go this March. She doesn't want to stay for the movie, just the sing-a-long, she just loves Chip-N-Dale. It is great to create memories with your family, when we went last year it was the night of the Super Bowl, DH had to stay in the cabin and watch TV. :rolleyes1 So me and my girl had a great time, we actually twice last year.

Thanks for the great information - I was just wondering about the campfire sing-along, too! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to bring DD4 - she would absolutely love this! :Pinkbounc

Wow, this sounds like so much fun. Does anyone know what time it would begin in December?
Also, how is the seating (ie. really crowded) ? Should we get there way ahead of time to ensure seating?

In the winter months it starts at 7:00 p.m.. I have never not had a seat at the sing a long, no matter what time I arrive.

DGS (age 7) loves Chip and Dale so he and I went to the singalong for the first time last Dec. It was pretty cold out that night and while DGS was dressed warmly, I was freezing in a shirt with no jacket. I almost hopped back on the boat back to POR, but DGS talked me into buying a sweatshirt at the general store so we could stay.

We had never been to the Wilderness Campgrounds and I fell in love with the whole night time scene there... the white lights decorating the buildings.. excited families making their way over to Mickey's Barbecue. It's as if you can't believe you are still at WDW and maybe that's what was so appealing, especially after a day at MK! I'm not a camper and not one to rough it, so this was, oddly, one of the highlights of our trip. :)

The plan was to stay for the campfire and singalong and skip the movie. We bought the s'more kit, toasted the marshmallows by the campfire, and I don't know what is was that I loved so much about this event, but I still feel a tug at my heart remembering Ms Sundee singing "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year." The campfire makes for a wonderful memory at Disney World.

We werent able to go this Christmas and every time I heard "its the most wonderful time of the year" I had visions of Ms Sundee walking through the crowd singing it :thumbsup2
