I was just reading an old edition of Birnbaum's (2001) and it mentions the Lawnmower tree at Ft. Wilderness. The lawnmower tree is a tree that grew around and within an abandoned lawnmower. I have been to FW a few times and never knew about this.

Does anyone have any pictures of the lawnmower tree? I would love to see one. Thanks.

You might want to check on the camping boards, someone over there might. I'll see if I can find one online for you :thumbsup2

Found some already!!

Years ago -- I'm talking mid-1980s here -- there was a lot more mower showing than there is now. The progress of lawnmower tree is something that my kids always check out on each visit. Our trip next spring, we'll be showing the grand-kids and I suspect they will be somewhat underwhelmed. :rotfl: It's about halfway between Pioneer Hall and the Marina.

That tree has been there longer than I can remember(stated camping in 1972 when I was 2). And yes there was alot more lawnmower to be seen then, I guess eventually, without a little Disney magic, you will no longer see the lawnmower.

Thanks for the picture. That is amazing. The tree has virtually swallowed up the mower. I'll have to be sure to see it on my next trip - or else it may be totally gone.
