Good morning folks........:-) My wife and I are 61 days out from our first stay at Ft Wilderness (we've got a cabin for 2 nights at the beginning of our Jersey week visit). We reserved a golf cart since the cabins are so far from most things at Ft Wilderness.

What I'm looking for in this post is information on how those who've used the golf carts used them to make their stay better? How did you maneuver through the resort. Are there tips that I can use to make their use more efficient. For example.............did you use them to get to a bus stop?

Since we've never stayed a Ft Wilderness any info/tips will be helpful :D

A golf cart is great to get around at the Fort. Not needed but nice to have. There is no cart parking at the internal bus stops which are the ones at the entrance to every loop. You can drive and park your cart at the Outpost (check-in) bus stop and the Settlement (boat to MK). There is also parking at the Meadows pool, out by Pioneer Hall, (Trails End HDDR), and by the Swim'n Hole (pool in the cabins area). Having a cart when you catch the boat or bus back from the parks is great, 'cause your not waiting around to catch another bus to take you back to your loop.

Carts are only allowed on the road and cart paths. Carts and all vehicles are required to stop while buses are loading and unloading. I only mention this because I have seen both pass a stopped bus.

If you would like more tips or ideas, head on over the camping forum. Lots of people there with a lot of valuable tips.
