Can anyone tell me about the campground. We may be interested in camping there. Are the bathrooms nice/showers? How many pools are on site? Is it easy to get from the parks there?

TIA!

If you go lower on this forum, you'll see an area titled "Camping at WDW". That's the best place to ask this type of question.

But in answer to your question?

Are the bathrooms nice/showers? They are nice and clean. There are several shower stalls on one side, and sinks/toilets on the other. The sinks only have cold water, but the showers have hot and cold. Showers are set up like many locker rooms, with an area to shower, separated by a curtain from the small dressing area.

How many pools are on site? I think there are two. My kids didn't use them. They are just pools though, without particular themes to them.

Is it easy to get from the parks there? MK is a boat ride away. You stop at Wilderness Lodge coming or going though. The others are a bus (unless you boat to MK and take the monorail to EPCOT). However, there is an internal bus system at FW. You typically take an internal bus to the transportation stations (one at the road entrance, one near the water entrance), and switch to a park bus. You typically share the park buses with Wilderness Lodge.

The "comfort stations" are kept clean and are pretty functional. Most if not all have 3 regular shower stalls and 1 handicap, sinks on the other side and a couple of bathroom stalls. Each comfort station has a mens and womens side and a laundry room in between. I believe Jeff Spencers site has pics of them.

There are 2 pools, one in the meadows area, which is the main pool, large without a lot of theming or a slide with a bathroom building, arcade and snack bar (in season). The other pool is in the cabin section and is smaller. Both are very nice but by Disney standards are pretty basic. They are both heated year round.

Transportation is convenient once you understand the system and where to catch busses for certain things. The best ride is to the Magic Kingdom on one of the boats, in the evening this can be a relaxing way to spend a little time just tooling around. The best advice I have is to ask a CM if you are unsure, they are understanding and ready to help.
