Ft Wilderness Cabins May 15-22. WE ARE DOING WHAT?

Uh oh, don't like that "or so we thought" part!!! OOOOOO!!!!! I'm anxiously waiting on the next installment!!! WOW

I was about to get REALLY ugly at CMs as were several other families.

We had the same encounter with AK and EMH. They asked as we got on the dino ride for your key card, but still let those without them go on anyway. The lady in front said they had been going to all of them that week and this was the 1st time someone even checked and they were staying off property.

I was surprised that they didn't check at all. I never once saw them ask anyone for their KTTW and Amanda said the same. I liked the wrist bands better.

Sounds like a great day despite the changes. It's funny how you plan and plan for months for this trip and then the plans are thrown out the window so easily!

I can't believe you weren't asked to see your ID more. I don't think there was a ride we went on where they didn't ask for our ID.:confused3 I have to say that I like the wrist bands much better though!

It was a good day, very tiring, but that is just Disney. And I said in my PTR that I knew all my plans would go out the window.........:sad2:. The rain really had a big effect on the plans too so I can't blame my crew this trip.

None of us were asked at any ride at any time. I too was surprised because I kept telling everyone to have their kttw ready. I had lanyards for everyone with the clear ID holders and the whole nine yards..........go figure. I liked the wrist bands better. If they aren't going to enforce the rules of EMH then there goes one of the benefits of staying on property. I guess with the economy like it is Disney really doesn't want to anger any guests be it day guests or resort guests.

Glad you and Dallas got to go and do the things you wanted while "the big kids" did their thing. The cabin looks rustic-not sure it would be my style either. Sorry about the tea.

Dallas is my Disney buddy. I am not a roller coaster person and he doesn't care for them too much either so he will ride the baby rides with me..........:rotfl:.

Hey after fighting the armadillo on the DARK porch the night we arrived I feel like a true camper. There were critters all around. We joked that they were on Disney's payroll..................:lmao:. I just didn't care for it and with the bad weather all around I was a little uneasy, since the Cabins are really trailers that have been redone.

I hate that we missed the tea, but we were just so hungry and Amanda admitted that she was doing it because she thought I really wanted to do it. So she saved me $50. And the pizza was good anyway.

OK I admit it, I'm a Disney addict. I don't care if they have a support group to wean off I WILL NOT GIVE UP MY DISNEY.................:lmao:

This is what I ordered.
The shower curtain.

The bath mat.

The towels.

And I ordered these shams for my bed. I have a black and white comforter on my bed already.

Oh I forgot I ordered this for our cookouts.

OMG, love the bath set!!! Where did you order those from? I'm a huge addict also, maybe we can start a support group for those who are addicts, but don't wanna give it up?? LOL

I ordered it from Disneystore.com, they had a good coupon special going and free shipping. The site let me use 2 coupon codes so it was a really good deal. I am still debating getting the Duvet cover

disneycomforter.jpg

I am worried it is too white and between Niko and Dallas it would be ruined. The one I have now is black and white paisley so there isn't as much white.

We already belong to a Disney Addicts Support Group.........its called the disboards :lmao:.

the bath set...:thumbsup2

where did you order these from?

Thank you. I get emails from Disneystore.com and this was the special this week. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, of course I will be at work, I just can't wait.

Count me in! I love reading trip reports and looking at pictures. It's what keeps me sane until our next WDW vacation. Thanks for your contribution to my sanity.;)

We slept in a little this morning since we had a late night and we were all tired. I was up at about 8:00, which for my body clock that is 7:00 ( I'm central time zone). Dale was up a little earlier so he could take care of Niko. He was furious when he got back to the cabin. He got to the kennel at about 7:15 and saw a woman sitting at the desk, he asked to be let in so he could walk Niko, she tells him he has to wait until 7:30 when they open :scared1::eek:. Now what really ticked him off was he saw another woman walking her dog and he was not given access to his baby.......:rotfl:. According to their policy you have 24 hour access to your pet, I guess that depends on who is working. When he got back to the cabin he was fuming .

We finished getting ready and I kept trying to wake Tyler so he could get up and get ready :sad2:. I don't think he nor Matt went to sleep before 4am the whole time we were there. Anyway he decided he didn't want to go to CMs with us so we left the cabin and went to, can you guess? Yes the kennel to walk Niko again. Dale was still so mad.

By now it is time to head over to the Contemporary for our adr. We drove over and parked in their parking lot and went up to CMs. Well, our adr was for 10:50 and by now it is 10:35 so we check in and get our buzzer. It seemed strange to me that soooooooooo many people were in the waiting area :confused3. So we sit and we wait, and we wait, and we wait. Oh and did I say we waited? Yeah it got really bad. I snapped these while we waited.

Well, people were getting up and checking what was going on and why they weren't being seated. At 11:20 I went up and asked what was going on and of course the CM says "You will be called in a few minutes." I was getting mad at this point . We had been waiting almost an hour, well we are finally seated and the wait is on again for our waitress. She is not the best waitress we have ever had. She brings our drinks and we go get our food. I thought I took pictures of our plates, but I guess I didn't anyway the food was very good. I even tricked Dallas into eating the breakfast pizza :scared1:.

The waitress smiling in the background is our waitress. Very nice but not a very good waitress. She is smiling because she knows she is getting 18% from me because of the TIW card. I am still waiting on that orange juice.

So we finally finish with breakfast at about 12:30(yeah a 10:50 adr)and Dale wants to see what we can do about Niko :rolleyes1. Next up where did Niko go?

Thanks for joining in. And who am I, but to help fellow disers keep sane :lmao:. I am like you. If it wasn't for the disboard I would really be a lunatic :upsidedow.

I'm surprised they were still serving breakfast at Chef Mickey's when it was lunch time. I would have been majorly p.o.'d too. Waitin' to see what happens with Niko.

I guess that is why they don't have a character lunch, they know the breakfast will run late. We have eaten there twice before and never had a problem I'm guessing it was because the later the ADR the longer people stay? I don't know what the problem was, but all of the other ADRs we had we arrived early and we were taken right in, even at Le Cellier.

First of all, your little doggie is so cute!! (so is your family :grouphug:)

I can't believe you ended up sleeping on the couch! But then it sounds like something I would end up doing with my 5 kids (and 4 are grown!!).

An hour wait for Chef Mickey's eek: Wonder what was up with that? At least the food was good (if not the waitress). Hope the rest of the day goes better for you (poor Niko - not being able to see his Daddy right away :sad1: I'm so glad you went back to go walk him before heading to CM's).

Thanks for sharing your trip with us - can't wait for more popcorn::

I called Amanda to see where they were and they had headed to Epcot for the day. The meet is at 3pm at Epcot so we decided to meet back up then.
So we go back to the van and start the Niko discussion :sad2:. We headed to the kennel to walk Niko and I swear I have never heard that dog cry like he was crying, it broke my heart :sad1:. Dale was still very upset so we went to the cabin and I called the kennel at the TTC to see if we could move Niko there and they said it would not be a problem so we went and picked him up at FW kennel and made a secret stop at the cabin to give Niko a bath and see if I could get him to eat. He had not been eating so we were a little worried about that. The workers at the FW kennel would not call us to let us know if Niko had turned his food over or his water, yes he was being a BRAT, but the poor baby was so thirsty he started drinking his bath water. We got him all checked into the TTC kennel, Dale likes this kennel as Niko has stayed there twice before. He was very diplomatic with the explanation as to why we switched Niko. I was proud of him :lovestruc. I would NOT recommend the FW kennel.

Dale and Niko at the TTC kennel. This is a MUCH nicer place for your furry family friends if you take them to Disney.
DSCF2492.jpg

It is a very clean place.

I love this out front.
DSCF2494.jpg

So with Niko all settled in it was time to head over to Epcot. Tyler had called earlier to ask if I would bring his contacts to him because he had worn his glasses and he bought a new pair of sunglasses. I called when we got there and they were eating lunch at Electric Umbrella. I met up with him and off to France we went for the Mammoth May Meet.
We get to France about 2:30 and watched this guy.
DSCF2372.jpg

I had a Grey Goose lemon slushy and a Grande Marnier Orange slushy, yummy, yummy, yummy but boy are they high. I met some great people at the meet but for some reason I didn't get very many pictures.

This is Alan the organizer.

While we were at the Dis meet Dale started a meet of his own.

DSCF2383.jpg

He and this gentleman struck up a conversation about the Blue Angels. If you could see the gentleman's hat you would see that it is a Blue Angels hat. Now for those who don't know who the Blue Angels are, they are

They are stationed in Pensacola so we get to see 2 shows a year the pics are from the beach show in July last year. They are so awesome.

OK back to Disney. The meet was really fun, I got to meet Mary and Leanne and their families and that was really nice. Then---- OH NO the storm clouds start rolling in. We get Dallas a Kaki Gori shaved ice and we head to Norway, I had to get some school bread. I bought two to take back to the cabin. About this time the rain comes. We make it to Mexico and ride the ride and head for the front of the park. We meet up with Leanne again and we ride Mission Space, green version with her and Lindsey and then we said our TTFNs and Dale, Dallas and I headed for Spaceship Earth.
I think this are sooooooooooo funny .

Dallas was mad about something, I don't remember what, and I was wet from the rain and hot. After we got off SSE we headed back to the cabin because we were hot and tired it had been a long day. Amanda, Tyler and Matt had already went back to the cabin. I fixed hot dogs and pizza for dinner and then Amanda and Matt headed back to MK, we all got showers and set in to rest.

Thanks for reading!! And thanks about the family :goodvibes. I have some really cute pictures of Niko on our trip home that are so funny. He fancies himself a guard dog so we had to do all the walking and feeding, but that is OK.

I didn't mind the couch so much, just that I couldn't sleep in any position except my right side and I would wake up with my right hip and shoulder numb :rotfl:.

When we go back in Sept. we will go to Crystal Palace or another character breakfast. I know I sound like I am complaining about everything, but it seemed to be a comedy of errors this trip :scared1:

I hope I can keep your interest. I try to complete these things pretty quick so as not to lose anyone's interest.

I feel so bad for your doggie. I hope he is ok. I am so not staying at FWL next time. I think Wendy has me sold on the Poly. I will just have to save my pennies. Hey thats why I am having a garage sale right??? I can't wait to keep reading. I don't know what we would have done with an ADR like that. My kids would have been nightmares. The longest we waited was a half hour at Ohana.

He is doing fine now. He was being very rebellious, but if I were being treated like he was at the FW Kennel I would have been rebellious too . I want to stay at the Contemporary or the Poly, one day I will. When we go back in September we are staying at the ASMovies because I wanted a preferred room and they didn't have any at Pop. I will call back later and see if they have anything open up. The ADR was a nightmare for a lot of the parents, I felt sorry for some of them. We may try Ohana in Sept. I want to do something different.

Aww, poor Niko! I'm glad you were able to move him to the TTC where he was taken care of! The MMM looked like a ton of fun! The CM's at France probably thought they were being invaded by lime green crazy people!:lmao: I hope the rest of the weeks gets better! Somethines you just have to laugh when the best laid plans get poo pooed on!

One of the MMMers(:lmao:) had a photopass photog wait for us to get the group shot. I thought that was good. I think the guy at the slushy stand thought he had struck a jackpot with everyone buying up his $10 Grey Goose and Grande Marnier slushes. Well, I don't want to say it but now is where we start to learn the swimming techniques...............:rotfl:.

Poor doggie-I am glad he felt better at the new kennel. Kudos to Dale on the diplomacy! Great to meet you guys too. I would have freaked at Chef Mickey's-or the girls would have. We had to cancel our ressie since Cayley was terrified of Tigger! I am all about the Poly for my next trip too.

Yep, I think I brought the rain with me, cause it rained just about non stop for us...until our third day, I'm getting to that in my TR!! LOL Stupid rain ruined OUR plans to meet. I'm still mad!!! Not at you, but every day when it rains here, I'm STILL cussing at it, Linda just calls me a fruitcake HAHAHA

I'm glad we got him out of the FW kennel. Dale was absolutely miserable about his baby :rolleyes1. I just wish we could have met back up again later. I will not to CM in September. I want to try Ohana or 1900 PF. I am going to have to be creative with the ADRs.

No I brought the rain home with me too. It rained on us on the way home and then it rained here for 4 days straight. I am still upset that we didn't get to meet. I was so excited about meeting all my Dis friends. Dale calls us the Dis nerds.............:lmao:.
