Ft. Wilderness Cabin question

I have a question regarding the cabins at Fort Wilderness. I understand they accomodate 6 people and we are 7 so my question is could we book a cabin and a campsite next to one another?

There are no cabins and campsites in the same loop. There is one cabin loop that is "back to back" with a campsiteloop (2100 loop cains, 1100 loop sites), but Disney will not guarantee loops/sites.

I have a FW map on my site below if you want to see what it looks like.

I am not too good at judging distance, so be kind OK! If my sis and family were in their camper (full hook-up with doggie) and we would get a cabin, could we walk between the 2 places? I have never been to the campground and I am having a hard time picturing everything that is there. In my mind it must be hugh! I know people get golf carts! If we can't be pretty close we will go ahead and stay at the Dolphin and just meet up with them at the parks.

Oh one more question, if we do not stay at the cabins would we be allowed to head over to their camper for dinner? Brother in law is one great BBQ guy!

You threw a twist into it when you added their pet. Now you need to walk from a cabin to a pet site. As the pet loops are limited (hese are the only pet loops300, 500, 700, 800, 1600-1900), if you stay at the cabins it will be quite a walk. Renting a golf cart is an option, but it adds $45 per day, but they are really fun!

You can always visit someone who stays at the campground. Just drive over and park in the front lot and catch an internal bus to their site.

DVD in the living room of the cabin.

Walking around the Fort isn't so bad. DH and I even walked from the Marina back to the 1500 loop in about 20 minutes.

i'm glad that Ft.wilderness cabins has a DVD player.it is true Please tell me Thanks.:mickeyjum :figment:

Thank-you. We will consider both options but most likely will end up at our old favorite the Dolphin. It may work out nicely as we could spend an evening with them at the campground for BBQ and they could spend an evening with us at the Boardwalk. DH is a plat member of SPG and we often get a nice upgrade there plus points, and it will be less $$$ to start with! For the parks we could just plan a meeting place and then use the cell phone to find each other. Either way it's all good cause it's Disney! :goodvibes

but i read my guide book the Ft.wilderness cabins has a VCR player.

They have both. I know they have a DVD player because we took VHS tapes and left most of the DVDs at home.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but do the cabins have a CD player? DS2 is really into falling asleep to "Doodlebops" (I think we have heard this thing a million times since we bought it last week  ), and I was wondering if I would need to bring something. If not, I really don't want to lug a cd player, so hopefully some TV will do the trick. Too bad the bedtime stories are gone!!!
