Has anyone taken any photos of what the beach areas look like since the fence installations? Would love to see what we can expect in October.

104 days 5 hours ...... Cant wait:banana::banana::banana:

The barrier at the beach is wood posts with 3 rope rails and is a few feet from the waters edge. The signs are on every few posts, what I understand this barrier is temporary until the permanent fence is installed which will be sometime in the near future.

Thanks Corgidad Fom what you describe it sounds pretty close to what I expected a barrier near waters edge

Do you know if they are also going to fence off all the canals?

I have not heard about the canals, they are now in the process of putting No Fishing signs on all the Wildlife warning signs at all the waterways within the Fort. Looks like the only place you can fish now will be at the pier on the pond at the Bike Barn and on the foot bridges. No more fishing from the banks.

Am sure all these changes are advised from lawyers and insurance, but sure seems like overkill to me. Will be a much different look/feel/ experience now from what we've all known. Must save us from ourselves - no personal responsibility required in lots of places/situations now.

Thanks for the updates. Hopefully someone will post some pictures of the beaches soon.

Anybody wanna bet on how long it takes for them to increase the price on fishing excursions now that the "poor man's" options have been decreased?

I was there this weekend and they only allowed us to fish on the dock across from the bike barn not on the bridges. My son fished all weekend so we saw other people fishing from the bank and they were told to stop. No fishing signs were everywhere. My husband washed is hands off in the water after catching a fish from the dock and a CM came over and told him to stop. When we got there the dock had a open area with a rope across but they actually took it down and built a railing. I didn't take pictures of the beach/fence but it looks just like the pics they show of the Grand Floridians beach.

That makes sense, because, after all, alligators don't climb up on docks...

Haha... Nice pics! The CM's were very nice about it. Hoping it will be lifted eventually. We are planning on going back in November and I don't know if this is going to be permanent. There are so many other places my son wants to fish in the campground.

This whole thing is so dumb
I found it a little odd that we couldn't fish from shore but people could kayak but I guess they aren't worried about gators jumping in a boat. I know they are just trying to keep us as safe as possible.

Or worried about guests who rent kayaks feeding the gators, or people falling out of a kayak into the water, or people trying to catch them while in a kayak...

I'll bet immediately considering since I was so aggravated about this beach situation I attempted to rent one of the pontoon boats to take my party out in to watch the fireworks. They wanted $911 and some change.

NOt only that but alligators at Disney are strictly animatronic or completely trained

This whole thing is so dumb
To quote Ron White " You can't fix STUPID"

I hate lawyers. That is all.
Shakespear had the right idea " First thing we do is kill all the lawyers."

You have some valid points... Especially about people falling out of the kayaks!
