Ft Myers beach in the summer

We have the use for a friend's appartment on Ft Myers Beach next August We love this area, although have never stayed in Ft Myers beach (last two years on Marco Island).
We've been to Florida 6 times now, but never in the summer months.

As a school secretary, I am very much governed from now on by when I can take hols (in the past I've not had to worry since I worked in PR and we took DD out of school to travel over to the US in May/June or October).

My DH is a sun worshipper, so August heat is his idea of heaven. My only concern here is HOW hot it will be - in other words how much time would we exactly get on the beach without being frazzled to a crisp . Whilst we never spend all day on the beach, our beach days are normally straight down there after breakfast until lunchtime when we then go off exploring, and then back again on our return (or pool in the resort).

We could go at Easter (last week March, first week April), but I think this perhaps could be way too busy since we will be tagging three days in the parks at the end of the hols, and I think the temps weather wise could be a bit of a shock given we're used to May/October, especially for the sea temperature!

How busy is Ft Myers likely to be from (approx) 12-22 August? And then from 23-27 in the parks back in Orlando?
I really need to try and make a decision soon because believe it or not the flights are already looking full from this end

I will say that it will be in the 90's every day and humid. You probably would NEED an umbrella for the beach. As for WDW I've heard that the week before Labor Day is not that crazy. But it's still Summer and hot! More likely more busy than October. I wouldn't do Easter only because it's such a busy time. Whenever you decide to go - have a blast!

Beach weather would be ok because you'll have the gulf
but the parks will be brutal, not crowded-hot.
