Hey all,

Just need to vent a bit. I called MS yesterday to remove dining plan request and change building request for OKW. (Took Diane's advice and requested bldg 45/46, hope it comes thru!) I also have 2 weekend nights booked on cash. I casually asked the CM how much it was for the 2 nights with DVC discount, and she told me.....are you ready for this..... $1170 for 1BR at OKW!!!!! :scared1::scared1::scared1: WHAT? Was my reply. I said, there is NO WAY in h*e*double-hockey-sticks that I would book 2 nights cash for that price. I assured her I had not lost my mind and I would have re-arranged our vacation had it been that much. Well she checked and double checked and NOPE she assured ME she was correct.... I still continued to argue and said I was figuring give-or-take $600 for the 2 nights with the DVC discount and although I didn't have my confirmation or paperwork with me I would certainly double check it when I got home and call back. I knew what the CM told me when I booked the ressie and I knew what to expect to pay upon check-in.

I was totally flabbergasted and called CRO straight away and asked them what rack rate was for 1BR @ OKW for my specific dates. $390+ tax. Minus the DVC discount the two nights should be approx. $585. Well she (MS CM) was trying to tell me that it was $585 PER NIGHT and that WAS the discounted rate, adding 25% to that = $+/-800 per night for one room. (If that's the case, how much is a GV on cash?? Holy cow....)

Now--I KNOW that no one is perfect, Lord especially not me. But she was very assertive in what she was saying, not even pausing for a second to double check what SHE was seeing to make sure it was correct. How do you know that you're getting accurate information from the MS CM answering the phone? I would think the customer service would be better than what I have been experiencing lately from them. And had I not known better, would I have actually been charged $1200 for 2 nights upon check-in? I've never booked cash ressies before, only points, so not even clear on how that really works. I guess I just have always had too much faith in the system and trusted it too much. Not anymore, I will call back until I get someone with the correct answer. This goes along with MS CM's assuring me that my bldg request was NOT in HH category, and even then I called back 3x and got the same answer from 3 different people. Everyone here set me straight though on that, and some of you may remember that thread. So for that... :worship::worship:

*vent over*

I have found that knowledgeable MS Advisers are a minority. As sad as it is, I find myself calling 2 of 3 times to get correct information.

I was told months ago that we had used up some transfered points that we had. Last week an Adviser told me that the transfered points were applied to a reservation for next Oct. I checked my records and couldn't find where MS had applied the transfered points so I called again yesterday. The Adviser told me that we didn't have any pending reservations using transfered points. I hung up and called back and that Adviser right away tells me that the transfered points were used for the Oct. reservation. :confused3

Why couldn't they all see the transfered points, who knows, but things like this seem to happen all the time.

Hockeyprincess-Are you an Annual Passholder? If so, call 1-407-WDISNEY and tell them discount code QZZ. You typically save 40%-50% this way. I booked a cash room only discount at the Wilderness Lodge in July and got a room for $174 a night. DVC member services wanted $320 for the same room. You can also add the Dining Plan if you desire. Give it a try and send me a private message letting me know how it worked out. Good luck! :)

Did you already book the 2 nights cash? The rate should be on your confirmation. If you had already booked it, could she have been adding a second room to your reservation?

Lord only knows... I asked her if it would be on my confirmation and she really was not "sure" so to speak. I totally forgot to look last night.... Tuesdays & Thursdays are ballgame nights and when I got home from work we head straight to the ballpark after a quick bite to eat. Of course I thought about it as I was laying in bed last night! :rotfl: Isn't that when you remember all the "important stuff"? So I will check tonight when I get home. I too, thought it would be on the confirmation. And yes the room was already booked, so she should have been able to answer my question easily IMO. Oh well...

I will def. call about the AP discount. We're going to get AP's this trip so I don't know if it will work for the 2 nites cash or not. Do you know if an adjustment can be made while we're there? We're arriving on a Wednesday.

I checked the 1 br price for OKW for the month of June - without tax it shows $445. The highest price I see is $595 for an OKW 1 br at holiday season. These are priced without the tax.

Now, keep in mind, the 25% discount is not always available. In fact, it is very limited with only certain dates and subject to availability and booking. So, you will often find that the 25% off is not possible through MS, even if they can book with cash.

As mentioned above, CRO does have special offers such as AP discounts, and a current Summer Special for discounted nights. MS would not have access to those discounted prices, however.

One thing to note about CRO reservations is you might have to change units and you definitely will have to check in separately for the CRO and DVC portion.

We just booked WLV studio for 1 night on an AP rate through CRO and saved $30 over MS with a DVC discount.
