Frustrated with reservation system...Ugh

I just called to inquire about reservations for the dessert party. I figured my time period was too far off, but I called anyway. I gave a date, and she said "not available." To that, my response was "Not available as in they are already filled for that date, or not available as in their aren't in the system yet?" She simply replied "Not available as in not available." Thanks.

So then I chose a date in May since I figured May would be open. Same response: "not available." Once again, I asked if they weren't available because they were taken, or whether they were not available because they weren't in the system yet. She didn't know.

This isn't the first time that I have had this problem. I got it when trying to book the Hoopdee Doo earlier this year. In both cases, the person on the other end had no clue whether the event was filled or whether it wasn't put in the system yet.

In today's situation, she at least said that I should call 1 month in advance for the dessert party. That sounded like good advance provided that they do indeed get entered into the system exactly 1 month in advance. As it turns out, though, I came to this board and found out that the entire month of May was already in the system. Therefore, in my second inquiry, the table wasn't available because someone already took it. A quick look online (I previously didn't know I could book this online) shows that the date I requested wasn't available, but the previous day was. Yet she never mentioned that as an option.
