Frustrated with Posting pictures here on the DIS. (Hope it helps)

I see a lot of people struggling with the orientation of the photos they want to post.
I have found that you can only post those photos that you've taken in landscape. For some reason the DIS doesn't like portrait and turns them sideways and you can't fix the orientation during or within the post.
This isn't to say that it's impossible to post your portrait photos, but it takes a lot of cropping and manipulating to get it to work.
Hope this helps those of you who are regularly frustrated. I just got in the habit of taking everything you think you'll want to post on line in landscape orientation.

I found it helps to take a screenshot of my photo, so it's correctly oriented, then I post the screenshot.

Something that I’ve learned from the boards is to edit my pic’s brightness level. If I turn down the brightness to approx -24 or so it doesn’t flip it sideways when posting. If I don’t edit it, it flips sideways. No idea why but works every time.

I have found you can crop any amount (even just a tiny bit) to get the picture to post correctly. Never had to do anything fancier than a slight crop.
