We loved flying Jetblue, from Long Beach to MCO via Austin..same plane, short touch and go. I took the JB AMEX card for points towards same and even used it for a significant purchase to make up enough for another trip. Fast forward to our Feb 2011 trip...route didn't exist. So, had to sit on my points and book another airline b/c I am not going to try to fly into a North East Coast airport in the dead of winter, I don't like to fly any longer than necessary and the chance of weather delays is just too much to deal with [which we would have run into, as it turns out, had we booked on JetBlue]

So, after our trip, the LGB/AUS/MCO route is reinstated! OK, I have another trip planned for Dec 2011...I'm just use my points then..Schedule gets extended to buy the tickets and NO LGB/AUS/MCO!!:furious: This is really starting to tick me off. I can't find anything to suggest its a "seasonal" route...or any other information about what in the world they are doing at JB. Anyway, thanks for the vent...if someone has a clue about how/why I'm running into this I'd love to have a lightbulb turned on.

There's no guarantee of a particular connecting city. They look at service being available between Long Beach and Orlando. I looked at December 3, there is a Long Beach to Austin flight and a flight from Austin to Orlando but the times don't coordinate to be able to connect there. The connection would be at Dulles. There is a return on December 10 through Austin.

I saw that I can get home that way, just not to MCO! Long beach doesn't really have a good flight for the going, so I'd have to fly out of LAX and then have a shuttle pickup at LGB to get back to the car, were I to go that way. It would also kill my thoughts on a one way there on JB, switch to SW and us my freebies to fly to MSP for a quick pre-Christmas visit with the folks and then home. :)

I know its all supply/demand, and there are "no guarentees"....just seems odd, particularly when I CAN go to Austin, then go to MCO [just not lined up to complete an EB flight] but they'll bring me home that way with no problem] I seem to have a perfect record of picking odd days to fly.

I think this route is seasonal, and I agree it's a great flight. We took the JetBlue LGB-AUS-MCO two summers ago, and are taking it again this summer. However, before we had our dates set, I couldn't find this routing during the spring or fall. Interestingly, last time we took this flight it was on the Embraer 190, which seats about 100 pax, but this time it's on the larger Airbus 320- I guess it's become more popular, at least during the summer.
