Frustrated with electric costs...what's your average bill?

Well we just got our bill and sure enough it doubled! I am beyond upset and frustrated. Good thing this post prepped me.......:sad2:

~4000 square feet over three stories (Basement with finished playroom and unfinished workshop. Upper story has two large teen bedrooms and an en suite bathroom (split with potty and shower in the middle). They have their own thermostat up there. Main level has two bedrooms, laundry, two full baths kitchen, breakfast, formal dining, greatroom and two story vaulted foyer and entryway. Three season sun porch (no vents) out there. Six floor to ceiling windows on one wall of great room that get reflected evening sun from the lake and four three quarter windows on another wall and a set of french doors with full side panels on the back of that room. In other words, a whole lot of glass. Total electric too in the deep South. We cannot win!

At least you made me feel better. Our electric runs $400 a month in summer.

Always glad to help ;) Saving grace is that in the winter I'll have at the most maybe a $300 power bill and no gas bill to go with it like so many people here do.

Our electric bill in the summer averages anywhere between 450 and 600...in the winter it is about 150 to 200. I am in NJ...
