Frustrated - Rack rate on weekend?

Finally heading to WDW after a 10 year absence. Purchasing an AP - 40% off at the Poly. Discount applies for all but Friday and Saturday nights. Two CM's verified.

I am beginning to think I am out of luck budging that rack rate on Fri/Sat but thought I would ask here if anyone has any suggestions.

Does anyone think it's worth calling back a few more times? The only other thing I can think of is to try to apply a 25% off pin to those two rack nights but then the week would have to be split into three reservations!

I would love to hear if anyone has any ideas on how to save a little money!

You can try to follow the steps outlined in the other threads and get a PIN code for 40% off the rack rate which does not exclude weekend stays....

Trying checking the passholder site online. I have been able to get the AP discount on weekends that way.

Also just wanted to add that passholder rates don't exclude weekends; it is just that at your resort for your particular dates, the AP rate is sold out. Every trip we have taken on a passholder rate (over 10, most recent last month) we have gotten the AP discount for every night of our trip.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I think I am going to call in a few times and see if maybe that weekend will open up with an AP rate... then that should be able to be applied to my existing reservation.

I have tried the game to get a PIN with a new email, but either I am doing something wrong, or I am just unlucky!

At least I have a while to try.

mousefan1972 has it right .... it is just that at your resort for your particular dates, the AP rate is sold out. I have AP rates on a star wars weekend at All Star ... but I booked this when they first came out!

Just called today to make my deposit and asked CM to check to see if weekend might have opened up for AP discount. He told me the AP discount did not apply to any weekends.

I'll try back another day.... hopefully get a more friendly CM.

I'm assuming that you're interested in passholder rates for sometime between June 4 and August 14. I just tried a random weekend of July 23 and 24th and the ap rate was available for those dates. Have you tried registering your pass on the Disney site and searching yourself? I prefer to omit the middle man whenever possible. lol

well I just checked into it further and during regular season the rates do change over the weekend. Once in value season, after July 18th, the rate goes down to $219 a night for GV view, for any night.

Thanks for checking , emmabelle! The weekend we are trying for is Aug 6-7, Poly Club Level Garden View. I do not have a pass yet - I am going to purchase one unless we get lucky and get the 40% off PIN. This is our first trip since 2000 so I am a little out of practice at the "game".

I tried August 5-10 and got these rates for theme park view club level. It was the only club level view that came up. I don't usually book above a standard view, so I don't know if they only have theme park view left?

Emmabelle, I would guess you are right.... only theme park available now. Garden view is $100 less per night, except for Fri/Sat which are each $100 more!

Just to add to what the previous posters have said. Getting an Garden View Club Level room with the AP rate is hard to get. If a room becomes available, it usually gets snagged up pretty quick.
