Frustrated - Part II

Well after being shut out of the EPCOT pin breakfast, I tried to register for the DL HM event this morning. Started FAXing at the crack of 8:30 when the lines opened. After 40 minutes of hitting the resend button, I gave up and got the form off the Internet and reentered the data and e-mailed it to WDW. Don'tcha know the FAX went thru around the same time as my e-mail. So I called to let them know. The CM was very nice and helpful. He told me that I was one of thousands who had done the same thing. There has to be a better system. Still don't know if I'm in or on the waiting list.

Just got the e-mail from WDW. I'm confirmed and going to the DL Haunted Mansion event. Good thing, my plane tickets and hotel reservations were already made! Hate to have spent all that $$ and be shut out of the event.

Why can't they just do an online sign up form like Michael did for the Atlanta event and Jeff did for GPA 2??

Maybe Jeff and Michael could lend their expertise to Disney (com"pin"sation included of course) and then it would be smooth sailing for everyone involved.

Just a thought.

Of course you know I will get you covered for anything you miss at the breakfast (except for the actual food, of course...unless I should be sneaking bacon out in my pocket!). But I bet that there will be cancellations in August and you will get to go.

Which package did you get. C or K?

I got the K package since I'll be at work until about 5 that day in San Diego. Are you going too? I'm also at EPCOT for the Sept pin event.

David, No, We won't be going this year. As most people know this has been an annual trek for us over the last 3 or 4 years, but Disney's new arbitrary email registration system didn't go our way. We wanted Package C, as we feel that this truly makes for the best event experience, and didn't get it. They bumped us to Package K, but we do not feel that it would be worth the trip.

I was asking because I am, understandably, very suspicious of Disney's email system. and the arbitrary nature by which they select the participants. Since you were just registering for K, it would make sense that your submission did not need to be sent right at 8:30, however if it was a C package and you still got approved, well, it just would have added fuel to my already burning fire about the whole thing.

Anyway, I sure hope that you have a great time and a wonderful experience. We will be at the Sept pin event, so I hope to hook up.

Sorry to hear that you will be missing this year's event. I was just lucky enough to be on business that week, so my only additional expense is the event itself.
But as stated in the start of the thread, this whole system needs major work. Since I'm up here in PA I don't get to go to too many events. I was truly bummed when I was in EPCOT the day the breakfast reservations were taken and they wouldn't accept anything but FAX or e-mail, but didn't have the facilities at EPCOT to allow me to do it. I got on the waiting list and thought I have a snowball's chance in Orlando in July. I was surprised that I got an e-mail today that now that they've sorted out things, I can go to the breakfast.
Hang in there Scott, from what I hear, the same thing happened for the Haunted Mansion event.....so if you are on the waiting list for package C you may still get in. Sending you a bucket of pixie dust that they can somehow magically get you in.
See you in September (sounds like a song cue to me)
