Frustrated no OKW availability

Since I have booked our flights to Florida for next July Ive now turned my attention to hotels. Ive tried most companies but none can book a 1 bedroom at OKW. Been told Disney have put blackout dates on this resort. I checked through dvc and availability is there so hoping they will release these or I will need to look at alternatives.

I always find this happens with SSR when I want to book.

OKW could be fully booked. The DVC inventory is for members booking on points only and these rooms can not be switched to cash bookings unless a member who owns there trades out for a Disney collection trip.

Generally only around 5% is owned by Disney and that can be released for cash bookings plus whatever inventory is picked up through member trade outs.

Personally I would look for an alternative with a company with minimal amendment fees so if OKW does becomes available you can switch. I don't think they will release any more OKW rooms with free dining - sorry

What dates are you looking for? Are you planning to book with the DDP? Had you had a quote? It may be that it might work out cheaper for you to rent DVC points and add a dining plan.

Thanks for replies. I am a dvc member but wanted to book with DDP so that my GD could meet the character. They are showing a1 bedroom from 7th July - 13th then no other dates available.

To add DDP its $56pp each day this would cost approx £2400 booking hotel and DDP is £2873. My plan was to spend 13 nights at OKW then 5 nights using my points either at AKL or BLT whatever has availability. Will keep checking each day incase they release more on a day to day basis.

Plan B

8 nights at OKW DDP
4 nights HRH
6 nights on points at AKL or BLT

Then again this will change many times

Sorry about this Will. Iv never booked my flights first in fear that this scenario may happen. It could of course be the other way round but it would be cheaper I think to alter accommodation than flights. Can you book any of the nights with free ddp at OKW or have they all gone? Would you not consider the qsdp and get the TiW card to cover tips for when you do the character meals. I thought they may bring free DDp back again before next sept? Could you not book part through dreams unlimited and then if free dining comes out wont they automatically add it?
I hope you sort something out.

I can get 8 nights on DDP but was looking for 13 if not then its Plan B. Will check daily until the free offer ends and hopefully more days are released by Disney.

Don't forget July 4 in an American holiday and it falls on a Friday this year so a lot of folks plan to take a vacation because they get a long weekend that week. I am planning to take July 3 and 7 off so I get a total of 5 days off but only have to use 2 vacation days!

Its from the 7th July Im looking to book. Its from the 15th July thats showing no availability at all for 1 bedrooms.

Last year in July they actually sold out of one bedrooms before the end of the free dining promo.

We had to shift our dates but one night was fully booked however they managed to get me a room as it was only one night and I had already booked.

When I checked a couple of weeks later I couldn't get anything - even breaking it up in to small chunks.
