Josh at Easy WDW has never steered us wrong. We also ran into conflicting info (to vs easy wdw) and followed easy wdw- crowds were light and wait times never over 20 mins.
But keep in mind- we went during value season when crowds are light anyway. We followed josh for our last trip. And it was great.
Surprisingly, Easy WDW has conflicting info just on that site. On the calendar Josh has Wishes at 9 pm on 12/30 & 12/31, and doesn't even list the NYE fireworks. However, on the individual daily write ups he lists the 12/30 Wishes at 8:30 & 12/31 Wishes at 7:30. To contrast, Disney scheduled Wishes at 7:30 on both dates.
This schedule does come from Disney, but for some reason they don't do a good job of keeping their own website up to date on changes, which is what Robo is referring to.

I find it's usually best to follow Disney's published word. If it's wrong than you can complain to Disney and hope they make it right. If you follow a 3rd party's advice and it happens to be wrong then you have no recourse. If you complain to Disney they'll tell you the only official word comes from Disney, no one else.
