Frustrated by the changing prices

Hi guys, I'm feeling a little frustrated. I stayed up late to try to get at least 3 days in the same room at Wilderness Lodge in mid November. For whatever reason at midnight it seems like a few rooms become available again. Anyways, the price was 400 something, pretty high and I had to get the bunk bed room because it was all there was. Earlier this afternoon I checked the pricing and they had the holiday offer going and things were A LOT cheaper. In like 5 minutes the offer disappeared. My question is, how does this work? Do they randomly just decide to do special offers like this? If I see it happen again, do I try to add it to my cart and cancel my other reservations which were far more expensive?

People are booking rooms constantly. I'd say someone just booked those discounted rooms. If you see a reservation at a better price, book it right away. You can always cancel your old one. The only issue there is you would have to pay a new deposit & wait for a refund from the original.

I know you can now change your reservations online but I haven't done that at all. You might be able to change the original to a new discounted rate but I can't say for sure. You can also call & ask to have your rate adjusted to the new discount. But you also risk losing the discounted room if someone books it quicker than you, so that might be a bit of a gamble compared to just booking as soon you see it.

The holiday discount is applicable for booking through a certain date. It really just depends on how many rooms are available at the resort under that offer.

Thanks everybody. I found there is an option to change it to the holiday special offer when it's available by clicking on reservations in my account, then clicking on "change reservation" and somewhere on that page there was an option to search for other offers available which you can then select.
