Is there a list of things that are not allowed on the airplane? I'm trying to figure out if a fruit & veggie peeler is okay or not. I don't want to bring my peeler just to get confiscated at airport security. DS & DD loves to eat apple but only if it's peeled. Thanks!!

I think it would be OK if you packed it in your checked luggage. Did you want to use it in-flight?

I was so worried about the actual item that I didn't even think about the checked luggage part. I guess it would be alright afterall. Thanks.

The stuck thread on this Board titled "Small Scissors allowed on plane?" has a link to the TSA's list of permitted and prohibited items in post #5.

I didn't see fruit and vegetable peelers specifically listed. Something like this --

or this --

-- might be okay to carry on. Anything like this --

-- that resembles a knife would not.

The link also includes a phone number for the TSA. If all else fails, you could call and ask.
