Does anyone give fruit as Christmas gifts? Our band is selling a variety of citrus fruit.....oranges, tangerines, grape fruit, etc.

I was wondering if it would make a nice family gift ?

Also, I know a few companies who give out gifts to their employees....large poinsettias(sp?), honey ham, etc. I was thinking about approaching them to see if they would like to give a nice box of fruit to their employees this year.
What do you think of that idea?

They can even do their own ordering on-line, through a website that gives credit to each band member. They would be recieving a discount of the fruit, rather than if they did direct purchase through themselves.

So, what do y'all think?

We like to send citrus fruit from Harvey's Groves in Cocoa Beach, FL. I hope it is ok to list their website, http://www.harveysgroves.com/ , but, if it isn't, I will delete the reference.

Your band should do well by marketing citrus to supporters. Good luck.

My parents live in FL and often have fruit shipped to us from their local place (can't remember the name) - we love it!

I think fruit is a great gift for you to give to people. Companies who give employee gifts, however, likely decided long before November.

I live in Florida, I guess fruit isn't a problem. I hate it and frankly I would not enjoy receiving it as a gift, however, I would act like it was the most wonderful thing. Now if someone wants to send me chocolate, I will give you my address.

Sorry if it sounded rude, I just don't get into fruit.

I love getting fruit. One of my favorite things to receive actually. My one aunt and uncle last year gave each family a storage tub full of oranges. Soooooo good and both the oranges and the tub were useful.

mmmmmm! i'd be THRILLED to receive a box of fresh, florida oranges as a gift!

Last year we sent the Harry and David pears. We have received them before and they are delicious. I got them on BF so it was a pretty good deal.

I think it's a great gift! We've received citrus from Florida relatives before, sold it when I was in band, and received Harry & David fruit pyramids... I love it all! Especially now that our girls eat tons of fruit, it all gets used (and oranges last awhile in the fridge), and we enjoy it. Yum!

i guess it depends on the person. i love fruit as a gift, but i eat healthy. my company shipped fresh fruit out to all locations as a sort of summer bonus and everyone loved it.

I agree that it depends on the person. No one in our family loves fruit. We all love vegetables, but fruit isn't something we enjoy.

When I was in school our band boosters sold fruit in December. Fabulous fundraiser!! They have stopped now though, and I would love to find someone in our area that is selling fruit. I would also love to receive it as a gift!! :thumbsup2
