Frozen: This is going to be GREAT!!

I do have a question about the "Let It Go" song. Might be a dumb question, sorry, but was getting confused, lol! Who's singing it when? Does Idina Mendez sing it thru the movie and during the credits? Or when is it actually being sung by Demi Lovato? How different are their versions? I don't actually hear it outside of the movie much, don't listen to the radio really to hear it if it's there. Plan to get the soundtrack soon!

Congrats to everyone involved with Frozen! Below are articles on why Frozen is special, why the song, "Let it Go" is a phenomenon, Iger on Frozen saying it is going to Broadway, and a very, very, interesting one on why the marketing was spot on, intentionally underselling the movie because they knew word-of-mouth would be so good.

Good article by the Wall Street Journal on Frozen but you may have to google it if the link doesn't work. The article is titled; "A Charmed Life for Disney's 'Frozen'."

I found it to be too similar to Tangled especially at the beginning

Hmmm, interesting, I don't see them being similiar at all.

Thanks for all the links to some great articles, very nice! :thumbsup2

I saw Frozen and It's awesome! I would like to see frozen ride in Norway at EPCOT!

I think a Frozen ride at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot would be a huge hit! I think it would be a big missed opportunity if they didn't make one, honestly.

I got breakfast reservations in February , would be nice to have the frozen ladies there for meet and greet and pictures

I took my son to see that movie opening weekend! Best movie ever! He LOVED it and we even downloaded the sound track....fav song ever is "Let it Go" he listens to it non stop lol. He keeps asking me when its coming to DVD. We have a trip planned for WDW end of March and he is hoping it comes out before than so he can watch it on the drive down. Good News! I read its being released on March 18...hoping thats true! My son will be so excited!

I already preordered it through the Disney Store.:cool1: You also get coupons to use at that time too, which will come in handy I'm sure after my daughter gets her Elsa costume dress for her birthday. She is going to want either Anna's as well or the matching accessories. We just saw the movie again today. She LOVES the music, especially "Let it go" and acts out the scenes in the movie during the song. Too funny.

Wow. A Frozen themed hotel room made of ice! Located in Quebec City. The article has pics and a few other points of interest.

~Thanks for sharing! It's been forever since I've been to Montreal, Quebec. But, I remember their subways and trains were so spotless. And, the mall was so fabulous -- there was a full orchestra playing the most beautiful classical music in the food court area. I didn't want to leave. :rotfl:

~Anyway, congrats to Frozen for the Oscar nominations! :cool1:

Frozen fall all the way down to #5 this weekend, it's 9th weekend out. Still pulled in about $12M in domestic gross. Now at $332M domestic, and topped three-quarters of a billion dollars worldwide this weekend, at $759M. I believe it still has to open in China as well. More than $100M is probably a good expectation for China. Iron Man 3 made $121M as the #2 movie there in 2013. The #1 movie made $196M, called Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons.

I'm sure its going to top $100M in Blu Ray/DVD sales too. Wreck-It Ralph sold about $55M in Blu Ray and $52M in DVD. Frozen should easily top that. Might reach $125M combined.

What a success this has been. Pretty much everything this management team has touched has turned to gold, from Pixar to Marvel to the recent Walt Disney Animation Studio releases. Should continue with Star Wars, too.

~Thanks for the update! I just saw something about pre-orders for the Frozen Blu-Ray in March -- can't wait! :cool1:

~Anyway, we went to see The Nut Job -- I really wanted to see Frozen again but I was overruled. :rotfl: And, while I never want to see The Nut Job again -- it wasn't as bad as I thought -- and, it was much better than Planes and Turbo. I thought we were going to be the only ones in the theater to see this, but it was packed with people. :3dglasses

According to Boxofficemojo.com it is the all-time 4th highest 8th weekend in wide release. (1st weekend was 1 theater only)

It just refuses to thaw.

I am still disappointed that they didn't have Prince Hans shoot fireballs at Elsa.

A singalong version of the hit Disney musical "Frozen" will arrive in theaters Jan. 31. (Walt Disney Pictures)

By Oliver Gettell
January 22, 2014, 5:12 p.m.

On the heels of its two Academy Award nominations, the hit animated musical "Frozen" will storm theaters nationwide in a new singalong version, Walt Disney Studios announced Wednesday.
Beginning Jan. 31, moviegoers will be encouraged to croon along to "Let It Go," an Oscar nominee for original song, and other tunes from the Billboard chart-topping soundtrack. Onscreen lyrics and a bouncing snowflake will help keep audience members on track.
A loose retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen tale "The Snow Queen," "Frozen" spins the story of a young woman (voiced by Kristen Bell) on a quest to find her lost sister (Idina Menzel) in a kingdom locked in eternal winter.

The film has grossed more than $763 million worldwide since opening in November, including $337 million domestically. "Frozen" represents Disney Animation's biggest hit since 1994's "The Lion King." The film is also nominated for the Oscar for animated feature.
Singalong screenings have become popular with audiences in recent years, including for films such as "The Sound of Music," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Fiddler on the Roof."

I'm rounding up a group of kids to go!!!! Been watching the fan videos. There is a really good article floating around where the Lopez's review the 5 best fan videos. My favorite was a reprise of Do you want to build a snowman sung by Elsa when Anna was frozen.

I read that the amazing number of videos is one of the reasons they decided to do a sing-a-long.

This should be fun.
