I wonder how different it will be from the Frozen Musical at California Adventure..

Wow. Did not realize they were in the St. James. Expect a steep mezz and balcony with rows all through the theatre VERY close together and VERY small seats.

It's even more surprising because that is a Jujamcyn house and literally every other Disney production has been in a Nederlander house (and Aladdin and Lion King still are).

I thought Aladdin had been playing a St. James? I thought that was were I saw it. I could be wrong, though.

On broadway, Aladdin has only played the New Amsterdam.

It's a completely different creative team, so I'm guessing very different. I've seen that one a bunch so I'll be excited to see Frozen eventually.

On broadway, Aladdin has only played the New Amsterdam.

Thanks - I got distracted by my cat wanting to play with his birthday present.

Aladdin and Mary Poppins (which should still be running IMHO) - New Amsterdam (Nederlander)
The Lion King - Minskoff (Nederlander)
Aida - Palace (Nederlander)
Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid - Lunt-Fontanne (Nederlander)

I guess since they've only played Nederlander houses I thought that they had some kind of agreement with them. I kind of thought they'd go for the Palace as it's one of the largest houses on Broadway, but I guess Nickelodeon got there first for Spongebob the Musical (I wish I was kidding).

The move has like 7 or 8 songs while the musical will have around 20 or so. Several of the big songs from the movie will be in there, but lots of new stuff.

If you hadn't put the bit about kidding, I would have thought you were. I had to Google to see what that's all about. That's.....yah. I have no words.

Jennifer Lee (directory/writer) has returned to write the book (basically the script) for the musical. Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez (songwriters) have also returned to write new songs.

That's exciting about the new songs. I really like the new stuff that was added into Aladdin. Well, I guess some of them weren't new, but original and then not used, but still, I really like MORE MUSIC!

We got tickets today too! We're going April 7th. My sister and I are giving my mom the tickets for Christmas. Was surprised we were actually even able to get the tickets. What was not surprising were the prices.

That is one thing you can't blame Disney for. Those are standard Broadway prices these days.

Yeah... I wish I was joking. The one going into the Marquis is only moderately more palatable - Margaritaville, the Musical. At least there should be decent music in that one. Just have to remind people that the rake of the seating does not allow for seeing over parrots on your head...

(The sad thing is one of my good friends is in the running for a role in SpongeBob, which will likely mean I'll have to see it for him. Sad for me that is - I'd be happy for him having a job obviously.)

Oh...and I got tickets for June - for my daughter's birthday! Now only if they'd bring Beauty and the Beast back to Broadway!!
