Frozen Summer of Fun Strategy

I've been reading over the blogs and announcements in order to try to plan our day at DHS in two weeks.

Right now it seems the only set times for things are the 11am arrival parade and the 9:45pm fireworks.

Any speculation or ideas about the hours of the other Frozen attractions, like the sing-a-long? I'd like to book a breakfast or dinner but would rather not if they are going to interfere with getting to experience the Frozen stuff.

Will this new celebration at DHS affect your touring plan? And if it will, how?

Yes, it has totally changed my afternoon/evening plans, and I'm not sure how it is all going to work!

There will be 12 of us...6 adults, kids 16,12,11,10,3,3. The initial plan was to have dinner at 50's at 7:55 and see the 10 pm Fantasmic. Now, with the Frozen fireworks set for 9:45, the initial plan is no longer going to work. Now, we really need to go to the 8:30 F! BUT with the little ones, I do not want to have to stand in line forever to get into that one. So...I thought why not get the F! package, so I booked it. BUT now I'm rethinking that because it is pricey ($40) for all 10 and over and I'm not sure a few in our party will be able to comfortably swing that. SO I'm wondering whether we can get into the 8:30 F! just stand in line, without waiting over an hour. The crowd level overall that day is a 7, so not terrible. Debate, debate....

I totally replanned to cover the frozen events, and did book a fantasmic dinner package, that park is going to be the busiest it's been in years!

Yes, this totally made me redo my plans, which I'm still in the process of doing now, as did the change on the EMH. I didn't want to spend a whole day at HS, but now in order to get the dance party and fireworks we will have to. Although I'm thinking of skipping the morning arrival now.

Decisions decisions!! We only have 3 full days at the parks so I want to make the most of it for my 5 year olds first trip, but she is Frozen obsessed.

I don't know. I don't think that something that is being done every day and every night for more than eight weeks could be described as bringing in "insane crowds." When I think insane crowds, I think of things that are more limited (by time or availability).

I do think this will drive some attendance to DHS, but at the same time it drives attendance it will be increasing the number of things to do - so the overall effect on the park shouldn't be that great.

I had planned a "resort day" a Fort Wilderness, but that is now getting changed into a DHS "Frozen" day. I will have to purchase one more day on my mom's ticket, but thankfully my daughter and I have annual passes. We will probably get there before the Frozen welcome, go to the sing-a-long, visit Oaken's Outpost and then piddle around until the Frozen fireworks. We absolutely HATE the obnoxiously loud and crowded dance parties. We avoid them at every Disney event we go to. We hate the dance-mix music and how crazy and rude people get. We will probably take my mom to the first Fantasmic during that since she has never seen it. And of course, we will be sure to get a "Flat Olaf" to take pictures with throughout the day!

I can defintelty relate to you with my 5 years old, turning 6 at WDW in a couple of weeks!

I've been thinking vaguely the same. As it's happening every day, it's not like it changes which days DHS is recommended for or not. We're still going on a most recommended day for DHS- there might be more people, but it's still due to be the best park for visit that day, so it hopefully won't be too much of a problem!

We will be there in about 2 weeks as well and changed our 2nd MK day to HS Frozen Day. In order to avoid a long line at the Sing-A- Long (with my 3 children), I bought the Frozen Premium Pkg. I thought it would be well worth it and the dessert party sounds fun. Hey, ya only live once.......

Well, now for Rope Drop, instead of going to Toy Story we will be headed to the ice skating rink.

I also bought the Frozen package - hopefully it will be worth it, but if nothing else it is essentially a Fast Pass for the sing-along and you get a dessert party thrown in, plus I assume a decent viewing spot for the fireworks.

I did move my Fast Pass for TSMM after booking the package - it would have been during the morning arrival procession.

I re-arranged our day at DHS for August 20th. I am taking my 6 year old grand-daughter who loves Frozen.
My original plans were to have breakfast at Hollywood and Vine at 9:30 and then we had fast passes for Toy Story from 10-11.
Once I saw the information for the Package I cancelled breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, move our Toy Story Mania Fast pass from 10-11 to 11:20-12:20, so that we can enjoy the Welcome Procession, then go on Toy Story and then go to the sing a long.
I have the Dining package booked and Fantasmic is at 8:30, the fireworks are posted on the Disney website for 9:45. It should be quite a full day for us.

Please note that fireworks is at 9:15 pm from August 17 to September 1 when F! Is at 8:30 pm.
