Frozen show on Wonder: Better time to go?

I'll be on one of the S Carib sailings in Jan. We have late seating dinner. Is a better time the matinee or the 6pm showing? How early should I arrive?

I'm not sure that they are still running matinee's of the Frozen show anymore, I think it's just the two in the evening. We were on the Wonder at the end of August to Alaska and there were only the two evening shows, there was no matinee.

When they were doing matinees, they were pretty crowded. People went to those b/c they had little kids, or b/c they wanted to attend more than once. I think the novelty has died down though. We seriously met people who booked a 7 night cruise to see Frozen and eat in Tiana's, period.

It wasn't any more crowded than the other live action shows, though. We always got to the theater about 5-10min before the doors opened and were totally fine, pretty close to the front of the line to get in. We also had late seating.

You should arrive at least 45 minutes ahead of time to get a seat.

I was on the Wonder Oct 8 sailing, and they had the matinee-- two normal showtimes, plus a 2:00 matinee. I went to the early show at 6:00, and didn't feel like it was any more or less crowded than the other shows.

They had a matinee on the 10/15 as well and it was packed. We arrived about 20 minutes early and found 3 seats together. Of course we found them after being told a half dozen times that seats we wanted were “saved.” People still believe the rules don’t apply to them and cannot have their party together when entering the theater. I watched seats remain empty after shows began while some guests had to stand.

Get there early for whichever show you go to. It truly is one of the best productions I’ve seen.

We were on the Wonder to Alaska in June and I don't think we had a matinee, just two shows at night. There were 11 of us and we found seats within 5-8 rows of the front on Frozen night, but you have to get there early. Awesome show, but then, so is Tangled. We've seen the Frozen deck show, too, which is just OK.

Definitely! in Alaska we had second dinner seating, we got to the theatre 10 minutes before the doors opened and there was already a huge line. So we got in and sat in about the 8th row? Centre. Excellent seats. But yes, we had a good 30-40 minute wait before the show started. Worth it though to be down in front (won't say why,but the closer you get to the stage the better lol) Can't wait to see it again on our May 2018 cruise.

I guess it depends on what kind of seats you want.

Also, the closer to the stage, the better the chance of getting some fallout souvenirs (confetti-type stuff) from some of the productions. However, on the Wonder in June, most of the stuff shot in the air or dropped from above landed on stage. Perhaps they want to avoid fights in the audience or maybe it is easier to clean up. In any case, the shows are a lot of fun and well worth seeing.

One drawback to sitting too close to the stage is the fog machine.....on a few cruises the fog was so thick down front you could not even see the stage!!!

If you are watching a magician or comedian, and sitting in the first few rows, don't be surprised it you are picked to be part of his/her show. DCL tries to make these events as audience-participatory as possible, which is lots of fun. I agree with mmouse37, the fog can get intense. Really cool is how a number of the shows (i.e. Lion King & Tangled) project images across the walls, beyond the stage, for almost a 180+ degree illusion.

Just disembarked yesterday and they had a 2pm matinee for Frozen. The line was past the shops before the doors opened. I think there may have been a few seats here and there but it was definitely a full house for the matinee.

for the Oct 13 cruise on the Wonder, we got there 10 minutes before the 6pm show and lots of available seating.
