Frozen - Live at the Hyperion / Tips & Review

I'm interested to see how this develops... We'll be there in 2 mo and this will be something we want to do. The Frozen show in HS is walk-up... is this one in DCA going to be that much harder to get in?

This is not the same one than at HWS , this is a theatrical production not to be missed. I would make sure to get there early , rope drop if possible to ensure a FP. The FP is disconnected so no worry about it taking up a slot . We were there opening weekend and on DCA EMH day we got in line st 9:45am at a 9am park opening and we only got tickets for the last show. Go early to be safe.

We just saw the show through standby yesterday and really enjoyed it! For the 5:10 PM show, we were told to return for standby around 4:10-4:15 PM. We went to line up around 3:45 and the beginning of the standby line was already forming. While we were warned we may or may not get in, I would say they let at the least 250-300 standby people in for that particular show. We were all directed to balcony, which really wasn't a bad spot! Hope this helps anyone looking to go for standby.
Good to know standby is an option I thought for sure we would have to get a FP.
:thanks:

My daughter and I are here for the first show. Lines are much easier now. Since it isn't early entry for the hotel guests there was no line for 1st show tix si we walked right up. People were waiting in line for the 2nd show. We got to the line around 8:30.

We got to the Hyperion at 11:30 and lines were pretty full already for orchestra. We are kind of midway for mezzanine.

So can you get Fast passes during early morning hour for hotel guests?
Fastpasses are distributed when the park opens, but on the mornings that hotel guests get in early they tend to line up early before the park opens.

Not sure about GAC or FP access but there is a wheelchair section that they will load you into separate from the main holding pen. They let the wheelchairs and companion in before everyone else to get them to the wheelchair sections before the crush of people descend upon the theater.

We lined up at 9:10 for FP's for 35-40 minutes!!! Got the 2nd show which is what we wanted. We lined up about an hour before the show for orchestra.

The 1st show came out about 10-15 minutes late.

Show time 2:35 and they didn't let us in until 2:15. Then at showtime they announced that the show was cancelled!:sad2:>:(

I've been reading about the technical difficulties. Lots of new technology that isn't working!:mad::mad:

Oh NO! I'd be so disappointed!

Well that really stinks! So over 1 hour and 40 minutes of park time wasted. If the technology isn't working for one reason or the other, I don't think they can continue with the show since they rely so heavily on projections.

Wasn't planning on going to this but this thread has changed my mind. My DGS is not a Frozen fan but my DNc is and so am I. So we'll try for it. I'd like the last show. What time should we get the FP for the last show? What location do they give the ECV's? Can a party of 4 (1 in ECV, me) go in together? Are they in ground floor? TIA:teeth::moped:

Maybe someone else can answer about how long to wait for the 3rd show. It would also depend what day of the week...some days are busier than others.

I saw handicapped people lined up in a separate area and they were with their entire group. They were the 1st group allowed in to the orchestra area, but there were quite a lot of people in that group. We only had about 75 people in front of us for the orchestra section. By the time we got in, most of the seats were taken but we found aisle seats forbear 4 of us.

Good luck!

We will try again the next trip. Probably next week or in 3 weeks.

Thanks to everybody for the sympathy. As I mentioned in the post before this post, we will try again next week or in 3 weeks. It was very time consuming cuz it means to come straight for the FP's & attend the show later. We purposely missed DL today because of this. The next trip we will have to miss DL again (too much to do all the back and forth).
