Frozen - Live at the Hyperion / Tips & Review

Maybe someone else can answer about how long to wait for the 3rd show. It would also depend what day of the week...some days are busier than others.

I saw handicapped people lined up in a separate area and they were with their entire group. They were the 1st group allowed in to the orchestra area, but there were quite a lot of people in that group. We only had about 75 people in front of us for the orchestra section. By the time we got in, most of the seats were taken but we found aisle seats forbear 4 of us.

Good luck!

We will try again the next trip. Probably next week or in 3 weeks.

If it is the same as before the first separate section is for VIP/DVC guests, then the disabilities section, then the regular lines. I'm surprised that there weren't very many seats left in orchestra.

What are DVC guests? As in Disney vacation club? How do they get in so close?

DVC is Disney Vacation Club. They get (or at least used to get) priority seating to Aladdin, which meant that they would enter the building before everyone else.

What?!?! Is this true?!?! I'm a DVC member. Or was it only offered to those considering membership? Hmmmm...i'll ask next time.

Hmmm... now I'm questioning if I'm wrong on that. I was so sure that I heard members getting priority seating for Aladdin.

I tried searching the internet for it and couldn't find anything. Maybe I'm getting it mixed up with Club 33. Sorry if I'm wrong!

Does anyone know how they are handling guests who do not have a DAS but cannot do stairs? IIRC, the orchestra area has stairs unless you are allowed to veer to the right as you enter the theatre (the area used for Wheelchairs and EVC users).

There were many ways to get priority seating for Aladdin: VIP tours, Club 33, travel packages (Costco), DLR hotel concierge...
Priority seating for Frozen is available as part of VIP tours, but in the coming months (or years) other ways will likely return.

Hi Lori,
Try going to guest services at California Adventure and ask them. Hopefully they can advise so that when your party gets to the Hyperion there's no issues.

Thanks, I will go and ask. It is just me and I may be renting an ECV for that day (depending on how my legs feels from the previous day!). If I have the ECV, I know I would be shunted over to the right to sit in the lower orchestra area, but if I am having a "good" day, I may just be avoiding stairs.

This morning they closed the fastpass line around 9:35, about 50 people after my husband. So the last fastpass was given around 9:45ish

Observations from yesterdays last show:

Fastpass: Got Fastpass for last (5:10) show at 9:10am.

Standby: They started letting in Standby for the 5:10 show at 3:10!!, and I watched as hundreds of people were admitted.
What happened is that they had only issued enough Fastpasses for the Orchestra and Mezzanine sections, and filled the Balcony section with standbys. Then later filled the normal overflow Standby section with more starting at about 4:00.

Fastpass Holder line: Not allowed to line up until about 3:45, Then held the line until about 4:20 (10 minutes after listed time).

DAS Section: With the Aladdin show this section was much smaller. It now is several times larger and takes over the first section that was for the Orchestra section. With the Aladdin show about 10 -20 with one or two others would be allowed in first. Now: I counted more than 160 persons total. Most guests that needed assistance had an additional 2-4 people with them. Several showed up without a DAS or visible challange, and were stopped, then they would argue or yell at cast members until admitted. One was a young women with a double stroller with two small babies inside. After arguing with the first cast member for several minutes, a second cast member tried repeating over and over the guidelines for admission, then they brought over a Supervisor, who finally gave up and and waved her, the stroller with two kids, and 7 additional guests inside. This was repeated several times with people being stopped, then after arguing for a few minutes were admitted. I did not see anyone denied entry or turned away. No cast member would risk a complaint to Guest Services and enforce guidelines.

VIP: About 40 persons, most with a Plaid. Less than half full.

Show: Great, the cast were all were very good. But, the show was stopped twice do to technical problems.
