:D I have some frozen uncooked hamburger. How long can it stay in the freezer and still be "good"?

It will keep for quite awhile if properly wrapped. Over a year. But if it is in a grocery store package it may pick up some freezer taste.

Thank you Steve.
It has been in the freezer for about 2 months and I was hoping it was still good. I appreciate your help! :)

Jennifer, I am sure it is too late, but for "bad packaging" it takes about 3 or so months usually for freezer burn to set in. So either way you should be fine :)

Thank you Elaine! That does make me feel better/safer using it. It looks and smells fine, I'm just not use to hamburger staying around the house that long, so I had no idea.

Thanks to you both! Y'all are great! :)

It wouldn't really go "bad" in the freezer unless it was in there for a really long time. It would start to taste bad because of freezer burn way before that. As a very general rule, if it's not discolored or covered with ice crystals, it's probably fine.

If you plan to freeze meat when you come home from the grocery store, it's a good idea to wrap it in freezer wrap first. It protects it from freezer burn, and it prevents the chemicals in the plastic wrap from getting into your food.

This is such good advice! Thank you Kermit :)
