Frozen Ever After in Norway

We will be at Epcot May 15. I'm hoping the ride is open but the character meet isn't as we have FP+ for it at MK. It would be really upsetting if we missed seeing them.

Good news!!! Big Thunder refurb got pushed back to fall

Wait, it's going to be open the week of May 16th?! That's amazing news!! We were so disappointed when we read it was closed again, because the last time we went to Disney it was closed the whole time. Whoo!

I still hope to catch a glimpse of the new Frozen ride, though.

But there will be a mad rush at Rope Drop and Akershus ADRs will be at a Premium for the "headstart".

I already have my Akershus ADR just in case. We will keep it either way though because we love Akershus breakfast!

We have an 8:15 ADR at Akershus on 6/4. Wonder if they will let us hang around WS after we finish breakfast? Or maybe we just eat reaaalllly slowwwwllly.

Yes,"most likely" you will be able to "line up" after finishing Breakfast.

When the Frozen Ones were in Puffin's Roost that was allowed.

We have our Epcot day 5/10. I grabbed an Akershus 8:05AM ADR in November "just in case." It looks as though we won't be able to make use of it... now - do we want a $345 "Norwegian" breakfast???

My only day at Epcot will be May 20, which seems a bit too far ahead, but I know nothing about how soft openings tend to happen.

Anyone have any insight?

By definition, no one knows. You may get lucky, you may not. Sorry for such a non-answer, but that's the only answer I see.

Soft openings can happen at anytime and may not happen at all. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

So when I went in May 2014, we went on MineTrain through a soft open. It was crazy, the CM out front just like all of a sudden said "We're opening the ride for 10 minutes to people." Later, we told a PhotoPass guy and he said he hadn't even ridden yet! We just got lucky. We are going to EPCOT May 17, so hoping for the same sort of thing Best of luck to you!

All I have seen is that it follows the story with favorite characters and it is the same boat path as Maelstrom...

Couple years ago, on our last day at WDW was the first day of soft openings for SDMT. Was really cool to ride it on the first day. Will be in Epcot 2 days between May 7-16th and HOPING we get lucky enough again to ride a new ride.

Yeah I was on the 2nd guest ride of Alladin's Magic Carpet, and got brought in thru a side exit to ride Spaceship Earth when they were adding the interactive ending, everyone in my group got interviewed by CMs on our thoughts of the ending. It was so cool to be in on rose rides that early on...

Nothing is confirmed until it actually opens. Disney has not released a date.

The ride layout is exactly the same except for a scene addition where the load station was.
