:drinking1 Okay my favorite thing at WDW is the frozen cokes because they are just so refreshing and I don't really care for the fruity flavored ones. Does anyone know if they have these anywhere in DL or DCA?

Oh and another thing... Churros? The churros in Hollywood Studios are like 2 feet long and sooooooo yummy! Any churros in DL or DCA?

I have begun checking out the thread about food that was started by Jeff Goldblum and there are some seriously tasty pics in there. I am so excited to get the Mickey Beignets... I used to visit the French Quarter with my parents every year when I was a kid and man do I miss getting beignets at the Cafe Du Monde! I don't know if the mickey ones are as good, but the pic I saw sure looked like they are!

To my knowledge they do not have the frozen Coke drinks. I sure wish they did! And both DCA and DL have churros, but they're not that big. Just normal sized ones...they can be found at the outdoor vending carts in both parks and are $3.00 each.

Yum-O!

What I always loved getting was the lemonade slushies...from right near the Haunted Mansion...YUMMMM!!!

OOOOHHHH lemonade slushies will be an adequate substitute! Please tell me they are still available??? Lemonade slushies remind me of UF Gator games... I'd go to the games just to get one and a pretzel! YUM!

Too bad the churros aren't gigantic... it is so exciting to get that monster and get cinnamon sugar all over my mouth and not even care!

Are the Tigger tails really orangey or just a bit orangey tasting? My daughter is a nut about marshmallow!

Oh I noticed in your sig that you're anticipating your first WDW trip if you haven't already done so you should print out the menus by park for WDW from www.allears.net

Let me know if I can help you in any way with questions about WDW? I know nothing about DLR and am gathering info about restaurants, rides, etc...

They also have lemonade slushies by Village Haus (near Casey Jr Circus Train), and they are delicious! You can get a shot of strawberry, raspberry (I think), or vanilla -- something like that.

I was seriously craving that drink for days afterwards.

Thanks! I appreciate it! I am signed up with TourGuideMike...so I think I've been learning a TON...but we're DLR vets - so let me know if you have any specific questions. When are you going to DLR? And I always thought the churros were huge!

Where are you staying at WDW?

I will probably take you up on your offer for DL help!

Thanks-

Lynda,

We are staying at the Howard Johnson Inn - Maingate East. It's cheap and lately has had good reviews on trip advisor - only $42/night for a room with fridge and microwave. 3-5 miles from every WDW park too. We will be purchaing APs for WDW since we are moving to South Carolina!! Woo-Hoo!! We're excited to be moving so close (only about 6.5 hour drive - currently we have a 20 hour drive to DLR).

I would have loved to have an AP while I still lived inFL, but I was single and working long hours. Not much time on my hands or really anyone to go with. Now that I have a husband and two beautiful daughters I am in the middle of the desert... no beach... no WDW... I was 1.5 hours from WDW and right near the beach in St Pete! I am happy for you that you will have the opportunity to go to WDW more often now. I should have taken advantage of my proximity to the magic when I had the chance. I never in a million years would have thought that I'd ever move out of FL and definitely never thought I'd be in AZ.

I do love the beach down in Rocky Point Mexico, but hate that it is a four hour drive through desert. It scares me to think of us stranded out there if we were to have car trouble.

Do you get free parking with the AP for WDW? Are you going to have to pay to park everyday when you go in a few months?

Free parking with the WDW AP...so that's nice. I'm looking to get one of those AAA parking passes too - so we can park closer ;)
Yeah, driving thru the desert like that would probably put me on edge. I would have a hard time living so far from the ocean...I love the ocean...never been to the Atlantic tho - so this will be fun 1.5 hours from Myrtle Beach.

I guess sometimes you don't really cherish what you have until it's gone! I think that's what we did when we lived in Alabama - when we left we missed things about it. I fully intend to NOT do that in South Carolina!!

How funny! My parents used to vacation at Myrtle Beach all the time before I was born. They lived in Miss back then when my brother and sister were little. My mom told me that one time when they went my sister touched all the Krispy Kreme donuts and my brother wouldn't eat any of them... which I'm sure is what she was hoping for!

I forgot about the AAA pass... that will be great for you!

You are so right about the not cherishing what we have until it is gone sometimes... I often regret much about my last few years in FL. If I had only known my time was limited there!!!

You will love the change! I couldn't believe how cold and dark the Pacific was when I went to San Diego after my husband and I were first married. I was so disappointed! The Gulf of Mexico is just my home and I miss Southwest FL terribly. I could just stare out at the water for hours and feel completely relaxed. We do go back in the summers for a 2 week vacation, but spent a week at WDW this past summer and then to the beach. I miss the beautiful aquamarine water and the soft, sugary, white sand!
