I have been reading so much about how great frozen was and everyone wants to do the meet and greet. I finally watched the movie. It was just like every other disney movie. In fact, I really didn't think it was that great. So what is the hype about it. Not trying to cause any trouble. I am just trying to figure it out.

I personally think the music and songs made it great. Not just Let It Go (which my kids sing ALL day EVERY day), but all of the songs!

I agree. The music is really what made the movie stand out for me. Plus, [SPOILER ALERT] I love the fact that it's sisterly love that saves Anna in the end and not a prince.

I was disappointed! I felt the character development was incredibly lacking and the plot felt sloppy. I mean I enjoyed it. But it's not THAT good. In my own opinion, of course :)

Except Olaf. I'm a little obsessed with him lol I also think I'm in the minority that I do NOT like Elsa.

Two strong female characters and good music and the 3d was awesome. I was pleasantly surprised because I didn't really expect to like it.

I'm with the OP. Maybe it's because I waited until the DVD came out to watch it, but I though Mulan and Hercules were better movies with better music. I'd sing half those songs with my kids every day!

On first watching I loved it - loved the animation, it was a sweet story, and liked the music. After it sunk in, though, and I watched it another time or 2, I realized I don't love it as much as some others.

I think what I am missing is one of my favorite elements of a Disney fairy tale - a diabolical villain. Sure, there was the dude who was trying to woo Anna just for her lineage and ended up being a creep. Far cry from an Ursula or a Maleficent, or even a Mother Gothel!

In the extras, the directors were discussing how Elsa was originally to be a hard-core villain, but they decided that would make her character not as interesting. I disagree, THAT would have been awesome. But then, I have always been partial to a good villain. ;)

Different strokes for different folks. I really liked the fact that the "villain" was a more nuanced character and that we didn't find out he had ulterior motives until later.

And I'm really glad that Elsa wasn't a villain. I loved how her character came out and felt that made her MORE interesting than if she'd been cast as a hard-core villain.

I didn't see the big deal either myself, but I think because it was so fast moving with one stand out song in particular, that it appealed to the pre-school and elementary school set. It was kind of ADHD in moving quickly, plus songs. It was tailor-made to appeal to that age group, plus being reinforced daily through the Disney channel clips and ads. So I guess we'll probably see more done that way now. I thought Tangled was better actually, and appealed to a bigger range of people.

No clue. I liked the movie well enough. Found it entertaining and all that but Tangled was better in every aspect, in my opinion. So the massive draw leaves me :confused3

Another one here who thought it was much ado about nothing. Don't get me wrong, I thought the music was ok... I'd listen to it on a disc, but the movie itself was just meh.... maybe because it was so hyped it didn't live up to my expectations :confused3
