I thought it might be interesting to make my own report, to see how it compares to my husband's view of the holiday ( just call me mrs jesuslovesyou!) forgive me for hijacking his username and account x
The first day was pretty hectic, and was apparent from the start that us English were going to be outnumbered by Spanish and Italian holiday makers. we arrived at NPB earlier than the 3pm booking in time, we were persistant in asking for a room near an elivator as we know from experience that the treck from the room to the reception is hard work..... we managed to get an upgrade to the admiral floor, which was a result... the room was clean ( not spotless, dust on the over bed lightbulbs i noticed) warm and comfortable, and spacious enough for 5 of us. the bathroom was a little smelly, but the smell faded over the day.
after throwing all our stuff down and ordering the cot for baby, we headed into the park. ffffffreezing cold! we weren't prepared properly for the cold, and our coats hats etc... didn't seem sufficient, the kids complained a little.
first things first we headed for the Pirates ride, as we knew that it would be closed the next day for refurb.... after q'ing for 40 minutes and moving at a snails pace it was clear something was wrong.... finally as we were about 2 dozen people away from the ride itself the annoucement came that we would have to leave, as the ride had broken down.... very disapointing, as we had already got the kids exited about it!
we meandered around soaking up the atmosphere and trying to keep warm....
the crowds were quite overwhelming, and very rude! hardly any british accents...the next ride was it's a small world, we all went on, waiting for about 15 mins, as always it put a big smile on my face...and a little bit of magic entered in to my heart.... awwww the ride is beggining to look a little tired, and i noticed that quite a few on the LED lights were not working.
Dinner time brought about our anticipated visit to inventions.... i wish i could bottle the smell in the disneyland hotel and bring it home....LUSH
at first glance the food looked great and my tummy rumbled, the service was ok, but not amazing, the waiter was attentive, but not overly 'happy' to be there ( maybe he'd had a long day?) we went for starters an i soon realised that this was going to be a waste... we eat well at home, but we're not into anything fancy, many of the starters we unrecognisable as food, and looked more like art! i played safe with soup, which was supposed to be tomato, but had a fishy taste? i went to the mains, was suprised by the lack of choice from the meat side of things ( we're not great fish eaters, so the mountain of prawns was wasted on us) the platters hadn't been replenished very well, and lots of the dishes were a bit 'parched' under the heat lamps.... again i struggled to find something i liked, what i did choose was nice, well seasoned but a little cold..... desserts were pretty, but i thought they all tasted the same!!!! baby food was suplied in case you were wondering! this was our first visit to inventions.. and will be our last....in my opinion, not worth the money... character interaction was ok, they were there, but didn't interfere too much.
back to the hotel for a nice swim..... changing rooms difficult to use if you have younger kids who require help, i had to plonk baby on the floor whilst i changed which made him cry... pool was supposed to be 28 degrees but was frigging freezing.... goose bumps i'd say, way to cold for baby, so we sat in out cossies and watched the others turn blue, hubby had a sauna then we went back to the room.
overall a naff nights sleep, but we were all exited and over tired, and sleeping in different beds, to be expected..... day two to follow, feel free to ask questions xxxx
