Its a wonderful evening in MN with the temp around -15 with a balmy breeze bringing the temp down to about -35 as I sit and read the threads and dream of warm sunshine on my Mickey ears. Will be heading the WDW in 11 days and it will probably take the entire trip for the ears to recover from the FROSTBITE!! At this rate I will feel right at home visiting Klondike, Snow and the Penquins. For all of you that will be in the World in the next couple weeks, you will easily be able to pick me out because I will be the one with the heavy parka on as I have a tendency to pack clothes according to how the weather is at home vs how the weather is where I will be going. I'd like to see Minnie in her bloomers in this weather! Just to give you a mindset of an 11y/o boy living in a state with weather this cold, tonight he asked me that if he tried to pee in the snow tonight, if it would freeze in an icicle before it hit the ground. Knowing him, he will probable let me know. (Hence the term, don't eat yellow snow)! By the way, do they sell fur trim for Mickey ears in the park? :scared1: :teeth:

WildforMickey-
You just may need that parka for your trip!! We leave on the 16th and Mom2boys just sent me a link for the 15 day forecast at WDW.
Jan 16- 63/39
Jan 17- 59/39
Jan 18- 61/43
Jan 19- 67/51- at least its getting better!!

Thats as far as the 15 day takes us as of right now. We watched Spectro last year on a Saturday night during the 2nd showing. Bad thing- it was in the 30's and FREEZING!! Good Thing- there were about 3 other families that we could see on the parade route in Frontierland and we had the attention of all the parade charaters!! Good thing.. although it was in the 30's at WDW, it was in the negatives back home in Pittsburgh!!! So, bring your parka and gloves! Looks like we will be putting them to good use for a few nights anyway!

-35?? And I thought I was crazy for living in PA!! lol

We'll be joining you - it is currently -3 outside, I am sitting by the fireplace and not-so-patiently waiting until we leave this Saturday for a week at WDW. :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

However, we will be the ones in shorts, t-shirts, and sandals when all the Floridians are in Parkas (low in the upper 40s; highs in the upper 60s/low 70s). We'll probably also be the only ones in the pool. ;)

Enjoy your trip!

We get it here in Maine starting on Wed. Can't wait for the -10 since we'll be at WDW soon. If you get home sick while you there you can always step into Ice Station Cool for about three hours. It could be worse I saw the high temp for Chucrhill was around -35, now that sounds like a good time to go to Disney. :firefight

Miss Magnolia-
I know what you mean about the pool. Im only from Pittsburgh, not near as far north as you true cold n' snow dwellers, and last year when we were there the kids were just dying to swim!! It was upper 30's/low 40's at night sometimes, and there were me and my friends' kids ( 6 total) in the pool!!! We, on the other hand. were in heavy coats and gloves, sitting on the lounge chairs having drinks. When they were ready to get out, we wrapped them in big towels, and ran back to our room! hehe
We woke up last January to 28 degrees in WDW and Orlando was like a state of emergency!! They closed the schools and everything. Although I was a little upset it was that cold in the sunshine state, when they flashed that it was -13 in Pittsburgh, I was like.. heck.. 28 aint nothing! its just starting to snow back home at 28!!!

I too am sitting here in my warm, cozy house on this COLD January day. I am dreaming of 60 degrees, aah the warmth. This frigid weather sure makes me glad to have a trip to the warm south planned. I wondered aloud to DH the other day about what would be the penalty of cancelling my return home flight tix so I could stay south for the rest of the winter. The kids and I could stay there while he worked.... he didn't go for it though.
Like he said, if we didn't like our family, who all live within six miles of us, we would move in a flash. We're trying to get someone else to move from our family, then we'd follow. No takers though.
