Frontline isn't working on my cat...

and I don't understand why!

I gave her a dose a few weeks ago (her third consecutive dose) and she still has them! Some are so big I could take them for a walk!

She is an inside cat and I assume gets them from the dog who brings them in. The ironic thing though is that the dog is clear - I see like one or two fleas on her a day. But the cat....crickey!

So will any of the other flea meds work on her like Advantage? I'm confused as to why Frontline isn't working.

We get our cats flea shots from the vet. Haven't had a flea since.

I also have had no luck with Frontline, both on the dog and cat. The vets recommend to clean the house really good, then use some flea bombs along with the frontline. Seems this season has been bad. While at the vets for a diff problem another woman came in with same problem. Was the second dose, and cats still had them.
So I will take a weekend where I can board the boys overnight and I will also stay someplace and deflea the house to see if this helps.

We use Advantage (from 1800PetMeds) on our cats. I had no luck with Frontline on our dog, so I didn't want to waste my money on it for the cats either. Even though I see one once in a while on the dog, the cats haven't been reinfested.

It seems that Frontline doesn't claim to "repel" fleas, but Advantage does. I think that's my problem with Frontline; it will kill what's on them, but it won't prevent them.

We have always had better luck with advantage.

No idea why. Vets praise how Frontline is better--but we have fine luck with advantage and are now to using it just when the kitties have fleas. We haven't used it in a long long long time. I wonder if the exterminator must be treating our yard with a flea treatment or something.
