As of yesterday, Frontier is no longer blocking middle seats, effective immediately. I called because when I booked my flight for next week the middle seat was blocked. I was told that middle seats are now available for purchase and I confirmed that on their website. I asked for a refund since I only felt comfortable booking with the seats blocked but they refused. I know that's their normal policy but since they changed their policy (rather drastically/suddenly) I thought they would allow me to cancel. All they offered was a 90-day credit, which is pointless since I won't fly them if they aren't spacing people out.
I've been burned by Frontier before (2 cancelled flights, lost luggage, etc) but the cheap fares kept drawing me back. No more -- I'm at the point where I'm willing to pay more for better service and treatment. I fly Delta often but now they'll get all of my business.
