So, I answered some posts earlier this year about Frontier and concerns about their service.

I have used them extensively for flights in and out of Denver and always enjoyed their service.

But, by this May, they have moved quite far into their Ultra-low Cost model and I have to say, I will avoid them in the the future.

Charges for carry-ons. Charges to print boarding pass at airport. Charges to pick a seat. Charges for just about anything you get onboard (that really does not bother me as I never eat or drink while flying).

Seats are smaller. Well, the list goes on and on. If you are careful and read all terms and know what you are getting and the price is right, good deal.

Otherwise....

Thank you that is good to know. I have flown Frontier in the past and thought they were a good deal but they have gone too far for me.

Very important for people to realize. I drew the line at charging for a carry on. Very important to read all charges and fees with the fare that you select.

I agree.... they are marketing this like it's cheaper but I don't see how. Their flights from where I live to MCO are very high, in fact higher than some major carrier's flights. Then add on top of that all bags and a seat - forget it.

I fly to denver regularly and they are the lowest priced by far for that route, even with all the fees. Im a 'no frills' traveler anyways. Just adapt and beat them at their own game.

We just booked two one-way flights for $15 per person.... For THAT price, I'm willing to give it a shot considering other flights from here are 200+ per person.

The website says that all passengers, regardless of Fare Option, are permitted to take one personal item onboard. Personal items may not exceed 8" height x 14" width x 18" length.

And the first checked bag is $20 at Online Check-In.

So, since this trip is for my DD7 & I, we will be flying one-way to MCO for $36 and one way back for $36, sharing a checked bag for our clothes and each bringing a "personal item." That brings the total to: 36+36+20+20= $112. We couldn't fly one of us for that price. So... I'm going for it!

I know this option wont work for everyone, but for us it will, and certainly a deal that I could not pass up!

Congrats on the fare, but as you well know, or should, that was an Intro promo fare, which caused frontier's website to crash for most of the day while it was offered as thousands upon thousands tried to score the "basically free" ticket.

Not a price you are going to see repeated much (if at all) by Frontier.

here are some recent news article about the airline:
