Who has flown with Frontier? Was it good/bad? Would you recommend it?

We usually fly Spirit or Southwest, but Frontier has a sale price that can't be beat for the times we are looking at going. We don't need fancy.....

Thanks for sharing!!

We used to fly Frontier a lot, they are based out of our home airport in Denver. Then they switched to a "low cost" model. You have to now pay for everything, I mean everything(well not the bathroom...yet). You have to pay to pick your seat, for all luggage, for drinks and snacks. But, as long as you know all of your costs up front, they can be very reasonably priced. Just be aware of what you're paying for, and not paying for. Adjust your expectations for a very budget experience and it will be fine. Good luck!

if you are ok with flying Spirit then Frontier should be fine. They both charge for everything, seats are tiny. We flew them one way on our last trip to DLR since I found seats for $29 (and it is only a 2 hour flight). DH said unless we can find a deal like that we will not fly them again. We did not have any issues with the flight - other than they gave me the dirtiest look when I asked for a cup of water - but we are used to SW so all the little fees just irked us.

I have flown with Frontier in the past, before the switched business models. I had no issue with them then and felt safe flying them. As with any airline, make sure you know what is covered by your ticket and what costs extra.

Budget airline with fees for everything. As long as you track your expenses, a cheap seat is a cheap seat. At PHL, they are typically on schedule. As long as you go along with what you do or don't get, its still just a ride from one place to another. Good Luck!!

We flew them in Jan for the first time in years (we are in Denver and used to fly them all the time). I didn't mind the nickel and dime'ing over everything. I knew that going in.

What I had a problem with was their AWFUL customer service. Out flight was delayed over 8 hours getting out of Denver and they made no announcement at all from the gate. There wasn't anyone at the gate to even make an announcement or ask questions of...the only way we knew anything was because we'd get texts giving us our new departure time...It was crazy. Even a flight attendant showed up at the regular departure time because no one had let her know the flight was delayed.

Then on the way back to Denver (out of Dallas), the flight was delayed 3 hours, which truly felt like nothing after the previous 8-hour delay. They made announcements at the gate but then we boarded the plane and they never came through with the beverage cart. Never said why or announced they wouldn't be providing even the option to buy water.

So, as long as you understand you pay for everything, expect potentially long delays and will have no customer service, I think Frontier can be a good way to save money on flights.
