I made two major discoveries this weekend!
I have complained about the smell in my washer for quite some time. I have seen threads where other people complained, too. I solved my problem by leaving the door slightly ajar, but I always wondered why there was a smell, and if enough people were complaining about it, why wasn't it fixed?
This weekend when I was pulilng out a load of clothes, something caught on the seal (not the seal on the door, but the rubber seal in the washer itself) and lifted it up a bit. When I went to put it back in the right place, I discovered that it lifted farly easily, and that the area between the seal and the metal part of the washer, was filled with little socks! And from the look and smell of them, they had been there for some time.
So not only have I eliminated the smell, but I have discovered where all the socks go!
