Hi all! I am a 14 year old girl from Tampa. I have struggled from being overweight my whole life. I am done with it and a restarting my plan.
October 1st: My goal is to lose 5 pounds by the end of the month. I plan to do this by doing at least 90 active minutes every day and controlling my diet. By controlling, I mean just watching portion sizes and making healthier choices.
QOTW: I have no weekend plans. I am going to be as active as possible this weekend.
QOTD: My motivation for joining this challenge was realizing that, as a cheerleader, my spot is not secure. Competing is my dream. I want to do this for myself also. My motivation stems from counting down to my Disney trip. I want to be the hottest beach babe in Blizzard Beach. As for people helping me stay motivated, I might do well with having someone PM me every few days. I have a puberty brain! I have so much going on that a simple reminder would help tremendously.
QOTW: I generally pack all kinds of snacks and my scale/any weight loss/food/exercise journals I have. As for road trip essentials, we only have a 2 hour drive so I normally just listen to the radio take a nap.

I'm about to start meal prep, so that should keep me too busy to snack!
So it looks like I'm home for the day. Less than ideal as we're implementing a new procedure at work today, I'm off for two weeks in two weeks, and it will end up shorting me on my next paycheck since all of my PTO is scheduled for wedding and honeymoon... But I also know that I NEED the extra day off - for my nerves, my sanity, and my projects. Plus my pup is pretty stoked to have mommy home with him. Here's hoping the rest of the week goes more smoothly than this!
, but I thought I would put in an intro as I get caught up.
I am doing the dark side challenge (10k and half marathon) at WDW in April and I have 3 other half marathons and a 5k in the spring so far (deferred for the past two years because of injury and pregnancy). So there is a definite motivation to get back to running, however I have having minor surgery next week and when I mentioned to the doc about getting back to running, he said "at least a week or two" without any type of exercise.
So my goal was supposed to be to increase my milage, but without being able to run, thats not exactly promising. lol. So I don't have a goal as such. I will think of one. I just figured checking in here will help me stay on track.

. There's an e-card somewhere that says "I would give anything to be as skinny as I was when I thought I was fat." and boy is that true for me and my teenage/college years. By no means was I the smallest person around, but I was much smaller than I am now. ANYWAY. I say all that to say this - only YOU know yourself, but definitely please don't kill yourself or go to any extremes to lose weight. Focus instead on being healthy, and the other stuff will come with it. We are here to help!
on the calories, but oh so good.

I can't justify Subway, either. If I want a sandwich, why spend $6 minimum when I have bread, meat, and cheese at home, and this will end up unsatisfying because it will be drowning in toppings and be more bread that anything else anyway? But, we are in the minority, as the number of Subway storefronts in my area makes it look like it's all anyone in town eats.
