from your experience, is age 3 too young?

Just wondering about your experience with little ones. It won't matter to me if my daughter will remember the trip or not (I don't remember trips I took when I was 13!), but I want to make sure she will be a little older to enjoy it more. Was it very hard with a 3 year old?

We went last year with our 3.5 year old triplet girls and they had a blast.
They still talk about it when they advertise on TV. We also went when they were 2.5 (not such a great idea) I feel they were too young and it was more
of a chore to go and enjoy a park for 3 or 4 hours a day. Just know your limitations. When it comes to the middle of the week and they're tired go back to the hotel and rest. My girls took at least 2 hour nap every afternoon.
Don't push and take one day at a time. Little ones don't have as much stamina as we do. I think 3 was a great age.

We've taken them at all ages, and have gone with nieces and nephews and siblings of all ages. I think 3 is the absolute perfect age. They understand exactly what is around them, they are able to (and want to) go on tons of rides and see lots of shows, and it is truly REAL to them.

My ds was three. I couldn't tell if he enjoyed most of the trip or not but when he got home, he talked about Donald and other Disney things for weeks so I guess he did. At that point, he was crazy about Toy Story and he was thrilled meeting Buzz and Woody. He was great. Take a stroler and bring snacks.

My youngest now 22 months gets all excited when she sees anything related to Disney. She loves to sit and watch the home videos and look at all the pictures. I SAY GO!!!! have many MOMMY moments....enjoy. You'll remember how they enjoyed themselves. call it greedy or call it Love whatever you want just go!

We took our DD at 15months for her first trip and she is now just nuts about all Disney,too!! We are so excited about taking her back and seeing it all over again. She refers to it as "My DIZZY WORL!!!" I say take them!!

We are going next year when our youngest will be over 4. We made the decision based on our personalities and what we wanted in a vacation. Our youngest will have been in preschool for at least a year, so she would be accustomed to waiting in line and various rules that school teaches. I know our oldest really was a different kid after she started preschool.

I would say GO if you feel it's right for your family. Going when our youngest is 3 would be a hard time for us. We know our personalities enough to know what we could tolerate and same goes for you guys.

DEFINITELY GO!!! I took my DGD just 2 weeks shy of her 3rd birthday and she was the PERFECT age for it!! She loved dressing up in princess costumes, and all the characters were REAL to her! It's really special to see WDW through the eyes of a true believer! For a few months before we went we visited the WDW website & looked at the rides, etc., and we looked at the maps and I told her what we'd be doing. Both before & after we went I heard "tell me about Disney World" at least once a day. I was amazed at the things she remembered a year later when we went again. We did stay away from some of the scarier rides like Haunted Mansion, but she loved the roller coasters and play areas. This year I'm going with family in Sept. including 2 nieces just shy of their 3rd birthdays too, and they're already excited. Go Go Go!! Have Fun!

We took our first family trip to disney when my youngest ds was 1 1/2, dd 3, and ds 7. It was awsome. My dd even got to go to the mad hatters tea party and the pirate cruise (used to be 3 instead of 4) with her older brother. Ds 1 didn't like the crowds but loved so many other things that it was wonderful. He is 6 now and he loves disney and it has always been one of his favorite places. When ever we have had a long car ride since that first time he asks if we are driving back to disney.

We first took our son when he was just 2. He didnt remember much that trip, but still had fun. We went back at 3 and he remembered that trip, and was a bit easier to handle in lines.

We took our daughter when she was 14 mos and she loved it. She was afraid of the characters though. I swear she remembered quite a lot from that trip too because when we went back in Feb (she was then 19 mos) she seemed very familar with things (ie when we walked into the thearter for Little Mermaid she started singing Little Mermaid songs). She loved the characters and even went up to them on her own.

Besides the diaper thing and maybe some standing in line issues, they werent much trouble at all. There is so much to take in for them. Both kids napped for about 30-60 mins in the stroller when they were little and that was all they needed to keep going until 10-1030 pm.

IMHO, every age has its pros and cons and its own kind of special memories and magic.

I've gone from ages 1 thru 10 with my girls.

I can honestly say that between ages 2 and 4, it was the most 'magical' in that they were in awe of it all and still believed everything was real and magical. Their eye literally light up.

Another plus, they tend to go with the flow at the younger ages; as they get older, they seemed to whine and complain more. Well, at least my kids did.

Go for it!

Just got back with my DD 2.5 years old and let me tell you I had the best Disney momement of my 12+ trips there.

I have a 2 minute vidoe of my daughter doing a happy dance saying "...me loves it" over and over again when she saw the castle for the first time

To a 2 year old that is the real Cinderella.

Maybe she won't remember but everytime I watch that video my eyes mist up.

Magic factor for a 3year old 100%!!! The only thing I may ask you to consider, how does the child do with Charcters?? DS freaked out and cried his head off at the sight of Tigger for some reason unknown to us. OTher than that all is good. It really is so wonderful for the wee ones. Have a blast!!!

We took our kids when DS was 3.5 and DD was 17 months. DS loved loved loved loved loved LOVED - did I mention he LOVED - WDW. He was totally in his element and talks about it all the time to anyone who will listen. There were some truly magical moments that at least I will remember forever, even if he won't. This is the age where magic does exist and the characters are real - I'm so glad we went when we did.

Not to mention that our DD totally dug it also! We were quite surprised. We'd be cruising along and she'd see a ride she liked, like Dumbo or the Carousel or Teacups and she'd start pointing and hooting and trying to get out of her stroller. Who knew? It was a blast - can't wait until next year.

DD4 has been there 9 trips,first at 18 mos, my husband who stated all along that she was tooooooooooooooooo young to take ....cried, yes CRIED as we 3 walked thru the turnstyles the very first day! The magic simply ensconses you and its breathtaking to be there! Go, not for them, but for YOU!! The memories and pix are forever! Go Go GO gO GO go

My DD6 has been going since she was 20mths, she has gone at least once a year since her first trip and she enjoys every minute of it she will tell people all about her favorite rides and the things she remembers the most. Of course she doesn't remember her first trip but is a magical memory for me especially when we are there and I can remember her first time doing them.

Definitely not too young!! I took my now 4 yo DS when he was 3.5 and we had a blast. He was too short for the big rides, but we had a blast anyway. I finished his scrapbook (the trip was in September) right after Christmas, and we keep it in the car so he can look at it while we're driving. He loves to look at all the pictures and talk about our trip...."Mommy, remember when we rode the Barnstormer 5 times in a row?"....If you're a scrapbooker....one neat thing I thought to take pictures of was our room, both inside and out (we stayed at POP).
