Welcome Carys!!!! I'm all for excitement!!!
Part of the fun of the cruise is the planning and anticipation......it's the patience I'm having a hard time with!! :lmao:

The schools down here are also getting Wed. the 11th off. So I personally don't think it will be a problem over the weekend because of the holiday falling in the middle of the week. I would love to meet up. The only problem I have is our APs are for weekdays only. The 11th is also blocked out for us. We might be able to do Mon or Tues. but I'm not sure how many people can do those days.

Monday we are doing the Minnie Breakfast at Plaza Inn. So we will be around!

Tinkryansmom---I think it would be great to meet up. I am currently changing my plane reservations to fly back on Tuesday, the 10th. I am staying at PP this time because DH is not along on this trip as he is gonna be in Australia. He usually stays at Hiltons and collects points but wanted me on property so it will be easier for me. I have no problem with that:yay::yay:
.

Yay! We should definitely be able to find you then as we are staying at PP also. Just look for the curly red headed girls -those would be mine and my brother is 6'9" so also easily spotted!! Would love to meet up!

Thank you everyone for giving me the heads up on booking the Radisson for 1/5. Was planning on taking a red eye on the 5th but with the Dream being there thought we might get caught up in the fun.

I, also, am in favor of one main logo and the others for magnets. In fact, I've already made some into magnets.

On a more serious note, my DH had his angiogram today and it's not good news. He needs a triple bypass. Will find out Thursday when the surgery will be. Good thing is DH is in excellent health and Dr says after the bypass he shouldnt have to go through any of this again. So, keeping sending the prayers and pixie dust as we will need it.

Tami you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm having a great Disney day. I came home to our cruise docs and DCL House Party package waiting for me at the door! :goodvibes Of course, I had to open the party package asap...poor doggies had to wait a few minutes to be fed. The package includes an awesome DCL Alaska statue, apron, pin, luggage tags, posters, bon voyage stake and banner, large magnet and much more. It was like opening a really early Christmas present! :woohoo:

:woohoo::yay:sounds like fun!!

Thanks guys! It seems silly to be this excited so far out, but who cares, let's celebrate :jumping1:

That is what is so great about the DIS. It's a place were we can express our excitement to other Disney fanatics that understand. My "other" friends just don't get it.

Heading to NJ (the high is what?!?!?! Is that in Celcius???) my Dad is in the hospital, and my stepmom is also sick. So very little from me until next week....

Oh, I've also been bitten by the pin-trading bug----quickly found out that it is really addicting---not to mention expensive! But really a lot of fun! I even found Disney cruise pins and a Disney cruise pin keeper. I purchased some WDW pins to trade for DL pins when I visit DL after the cruise.

A-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!

You are DOOMED I tell you, DOOMED!

My kids and are all all bitten, and we even tried swearing off on them, but then we went on another DCL cruise, then the trips to the Grand Californian and Disneyland...

My favorites are my Nightmare Before Christmas/Holloween/Haunted Mansion pins, and my GCV pin...but then there are the DCL pins, the port themed pins, the ... :goodvibes :lmao:

We stayed at the Hyatt MCO before and liked it just fine. Was planning on doing the same thing this time because we will get in late on Wednesday, but now I don't know. Any input is appreciated.

That's what we are planning to do as well...nothing like checking in to your hotel room IN THE AIRPORT right after a transcontinental flight with kids, and hitting the pool and restaurant!

 :grouphug: pixiedust:

Well, we were booked on the Christmas 2010 cruise but it was just looking too difficult to get leave over that time. The good news is that we're postponing our cruise into January 2011 and will be joining all you lovely folks on this PC cruise!! :thumbsup2

Woohoo! Kiwis! Looking forward to hearing people ask you "are you from Australia?" :rotfl:

Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.. I hope everyone recovers quickly.

Wow-seems like a lot of you are heading to WDW soon. Everyone have a great time. We will not be visiting for a while because I need to save money for this cruise.:sad1:

I have been on a few DCL cruises before but that was before I found the DIS boards. I think the FE sounds fun and my boys will love it. I am already looking at ideas for FE gifts. Is this a one time per cruise thing or do I need multiple FE gifts for the people participating?

I am also going to contact the principle of my oldest DS's school and see how they feel about him missing two weeks of school. I would really love for him to be able to go on this cruise as I think it will be a great experience.

Welcome Carys. Glad to have you on board. So just a coulpe of things. First, I am glad to see people have not jumped off this cruise and on to the Dream. While I think it is going to be an amazing ship, it just maybe to big, but that is a whole other argument. So when are people going to Disneyland? I think I might be there Friday. Also ifvanyone is going to becat WDW from Dec. 8-11 let me know. Alright that about does it. Oh yes the pin people. I am one serious pin trader, so is the wife, and can tell you on the ship on these special trips it can really add up. Also since I did bring it up, if anyone was on the EB back to FL last year and has an extra complete set of pins with map and jumbo, I would like to trade with you. I am offering a complete set, incuding map and jumbo, of the WB pins.

When we did Hawaii on RCI we played volley ball on the Sea Days any interested in doing that?

Lexi

You can do FE however you would like. I brought a few things last time..some others bring one thing per cabin..it is whatever you feel like doing!

I don't have the pins to trade but if you need the map..I have an extra one of those to just give you. I know you would prefer with the pins but just in case you find the pins and no map.

If it is EB map I would love it. It is a starting point. Thanks.

I talked to our principle - at the time of the cruise we'll have a Kindergarten & 3rd grader. He came right out and told us that he thought we should go - the experience and opportunity was so special that he didn't have any issues. They will miss more days than what the State would like but he has the ability to make the exception and authorize it as being excused. Hopefully it will work out for you as well.

Tami, prayers for Mike. Jen, prayers for safe travel and for your dad and stepmom.

Welcome Carys! We were also on the Christmas 2010 cruise, but switched to this one the first day we could. I can't wait!

Anyone going to be at WDW the week before Christmas?

We are averaging 44.5 post a day for a cruise over a year away.
My other cruise on nov 14 only gets 29 post a day.
I love the excitment for our panama canal group, should make it a vacation of a lifetime!!
:hippie: peace

I dont do pins so if I can get any special editions on my transatlantic or Pc for someone or for you to swap please just say.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

There are three of us altogether:

- myself (28) a kiwi living in Taiwan (it's ok, I don't take offence if someone mistakes my accent as from Oz, just dont tell me vegemite tastes good because marmite is where it's at!)

- my two lovely parents, DM (63) and DF (62) kiwis who live at home in New Zealand

We will be in cabin #7524, further forward than we wanted but we count ourselves lucky to have a cabin at all given previous cruises have been sell-outs by this stage! This will be our second Disney cruise.

Does someone automatically add info to the cruise website or should I PM someone?

I like pins but I'd get too pack-ratty if I were into them in any serious way, so I just tend to pick up a couple or a set each trip.

Tami, we'll be sure to send prayers

Oh hey, I just realised that this cruise should have a proper formal night unlike our previous short 4-nighter - do any previous PCers remember if there was more than one proper formal evening? Never too early to begin planning evening gowns :lmao:

The last Westbound last year had 2 formal and 1 Semi-formal. All the other nights were casual.
