From WDW To DL With Love - January 06, 2011

We probably won't be going to DL. We will be go to Arizona to see our DD. Hopefully, won't have to go back to work, cause husband should be early retired by the cruise. So PC is our retirement party.

Actually right now fireworks are called "Halloween Screams" -- they end on Nov. 1.

There won't be any fireworks after than until the Xmas fireworks -- which will be up at the end of Novemeber.

It is possible that in Jan 2011 -- there might not be fireworks if they are between shows.

Bummer....AND they will probably be shooting the Christmas parade on the 7th. I think that's a 'bad thing' for crowds but might be a 'good thing' to see. And folks may be away from the rides while the parade is going on. I think I just need to reset my expectations for that day, and warn the people I'm forcing to come with me.

Off to find out how much the Fantasmic dessert/priority seating thingy costs............

Yikes!!! We will go check them out - but we won't have access to a computer, etc, until we arrive home LATE on the 26th. After we get off the cruise, we're heading back to WDW for 5 more days - we're doing the Twilight Zone TOT race on the 24th. Maybe I can call Goofprincess and have her report some info for me.

Is anyone else going on the 4-day Bahamas cruise? If so, help me out and report back. Jackie (ibouncetoo) is waiting!

Can't wait!! We sail 11/29 and I can't wait to explore. Last cruise we were on the Magic.

This is my first post on this site/forum. I have been a lurker for a while, but when I found this thread, I decided to join.

My family and I are going on the PC cruise in Jan 2011. We are booked, deposit paid, and now we are just waiting.

We went on our first Disney cruise this past July (7 day western) and became completely hooked on Disney Cruises! We loved it so much that we booked our second cruise while we were on the ship (got the 10% discount and on board credit) and are going on our second cruise Jan 30. 2010 -7 day eastern). The PC cruise will be our 3rd Disney cruise.

We live in Seattle, WA, and DH and I have 2 boys.... currently age 8 (almost 9) and age 7. So, on the PC cruise, they will be 8 and 10. We are pulling them out of school for the 2 weeks, but we've already talked with the school, and they are supportive, and our boys are very excited about the idea of this cruise. So, all is in our favor. We'll have a test run of pulling them out of school in Jan 2010 when we do our 7-day Eastern cruise, and see how that goes, but I expect it'll be fine (they are currently 2nd and 3rd grade, so for the PC cruise, they will be 3rd and 4th grade).

We are so excited about this cruise, as going through the Panama Canal has been something on our list we've wanted to do. So, it's just a bonus we can do it with Disney. We love to travel as a family, so we are now hooked on doing a lot of our traveling with Disney Cruises! We have been on other ships, and the other ships, in our opinion, just do not compare to Disney in terms of the wholesome family environment, which we really like. Plus, we just felt it was top notch service!

Oh, and we are Cat. 9A on deck 7 for the PC cruise. Looking forward to being part of this thread.

Hi there...I saw you were thinking about doing a vow renewal. We did one on the 2008 EBPC...you may already know this but in case you don't .. they only do 2 vow renewals on the ships and 1 on CC..no matter how long the cruise is.

They said you can call a year out but I would start checking now and confirm that info. It was a magical experience and we loved it. The Captain officiates the ceremony.

I agree that NO ONE should feel obligated in any way to do FE gifts. It is and always should be a person's individual choice. That is what makes it so fun. We have given gifts by ourselves and as part of a group (08 WB PC). I really like the idea of groups for so many reasons.

1. You could do a little more for less money.
2. Those from across the ponds can participate without having to worry about transporting (If you are worried that something you get won't fit in the suitcase going home give it to a CM. They love it.)
3. You can split up the decks so that no one person has to worry about doing all of them.

I happened to head the group that gave out Dry Wipe Boards on the 2008 WB PC. It was a really nice gift that we couldn't have afforded if there wasn't a group to help pay for it. We had Disers from all over the country and across the pond participating. Since I was close to where we had them made, I picked them up and took them to the ship but he would have shipped them anywhere. The night we gave them out we all met in Diversions to add clips and pens and then divided the ship into decks. We were all done in about a half hour.

Some were a part of a group and did individual gifts also and some just did individual gifts and some chose not to participate (a lot of us still included them in our gifts) it was all in what THEY wanted to do.

Sorry about being so long winded but it is just an idea to allow EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO to participate without having to worry about cost or transporting.

I was in this group and would vote for the group again for the reasons she gave! It was much easier and the actual gift was nicer! I only live 90 min from the port so easy for me to transport there and if need be .

DH and I went on a Halloween cruise several years ago, for our honeymoon. We dressed as Mr. & Mrs. Potatohead. We won in the funniest category in the costume contest, too.
