Also I'm not a graphic artist but I like the idea of steamboat Mickey towing the Wonder through the canal bringing the ship home.

Hi Kay,

We live in Los Altos. I saw someone else on the board from SJ. DH works for the State. This will be his retirement cruise. Then he'll be working a "fun" job. That's what I am doing right now.

How many cruises have you done? We have done three so far; two wests (finally got to Grand Cayman and one east). Just got off the Magic on the 26th and adjusting.

We are neighbors. I live in the Sacramento area. Can't wait for California discounts also.

That's cute! The only reason I chose the princesses is that it is one of the only things that is different about the World vs. the Land

Or the mark twain riverboat pulling the Wonder through the Canal with all the characters hanging out the side of the Mark Twain. But like I said I have no skill to create a visual picture.

Welcome to those who are just joining us!!!
I like the graphics that have been posted so far!! We have some pretty talented people on here.
As far as the FE's, nothing to be nervous about, like previously posted, the gift can be something as simple as candy or stickers. I also have a picture of my loot from our cruise. I'll post it also.

A lot of this stuff was very simple. It was so fun just finding something in our FEs.

You know what would be another fun graphic is on one side Expedition Everest Mountain, and on the other the Matterhorn. Maybe have the Wonder going down Everest and on her way to go up the Matterhorn. I have no idea how to make that graphic, maybe someone with more talent could do that. Just another idea thrown out there.

Our FE might have been more complex: we had genders and ages for the kids, so I picked up girl things and boy things and adult things and because there were two little ones, i went to target and got two baby toys.

We gave everyone a halloween pencil and put a piece of tape around it with a note that said Trick or Treat from Cabin 2068.

But I think if I had planned it out better I would have done one gift per cabin, not necessarily per person.

It was hot and humid in May too. There were plenty of signs saying no deck chairs allowed. I have a couple pics of the Wife from the DCL photographers. I am also puting in sone stock shots they took and our embarkation photo. Here they are.

Great pics! Can you explain how they got the shots of you with the locks and canal in the background? Were shutters people just roaming around and you just asked them to snap your pic? And i guess the other ones taken of the ship going through were stock photos taken for anyone to buy? I just want to make sure I'm totally in the know about any and all picture opportunities on the PC day for memories for life!!

And i guess the other ones taken of the ship going through were stock photos taken for anyone to buy? I just want to make sure I'm totally in the know about any and all picture opportunities on the PC day for memories for life!!

The photographers were roaming all over. You just asked them to take a picture of you. If you saw them on the canal and you were on the deck or your balcony - you could get thier attention and pose and they would snap away for you.

Absolutely! PM me with your Email address if you'd like me to send you a higher resolution image to work with.

Don't be overwhelmed by the FE. You can use anything you want to hold all the goodies. Only criteria is that is has to be able to hang and have pockets. When we do our pre-Christmas cruises we use a Disney Christmas stocking. You can also find several on eBay. Just search for "Mickey hanging organizer" (or whatever character you prefer) for the cheap ones that are $8-$12. Or if you want custom hand-made ones, search on "fish extender", these are about $30.

Last time I did a fish extender, I cut up an old white T-Shirt and, using fabric glue, glued a wooden dowel to the top, and glued the pockets after folding the shirt in half. Then I used T-Shirt transfers to print some pictures on the pockets.
It was ugly as sin, but that didn't stop people from putting stuff in it.

Yes the last pic was a stock photo that anyone could by. I liked it cause it showed the tight squeeze to get us into the locks. As fir the others the photographers were along side and roaming the ship, and all you had to do was grab their attention. DW is already talking about which places she wants her pic taken. Man the photo bill is going to be high not to mention the pin bill as well. This is one reason we do not do the FE. We realocate our limited cash to other things. So the first thing we always cut from the cruise budget is FE. I know the things are very inexpensive, but it adds up.

i think what she meant was that Cinderella resides in the WDW castle and Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) resides in the one at Disneyland. The castle being one of the few things that exists in both places, but are different enough that they are easily associated with their respective parks.

As for FE: I went to the dollar store and to the craft store ... I cut up a bag and stapled pockets to it. Then I taped pictures on and stuck our names to them. It was not especially pretty, but for someone like me -- who is better with words than crafts -- it wasn't terrible.

Yep..what she said. I was trying to think of things that were different to distinguish between the two parks..the characters are the same but the castles are what each park is known for. I tried to think of characters in different costumes etc to tell them apart but the Princess was the best I could come up with.

See when I think of a unique thing about Disneyland, I think the Matterhorn. And for WDW I think Spaceship Earth. Those two things are truly unique to WDW and Disneyland. See our castle here has been redone in Hong Kong, and the castle from WDW is in Japan. I get what you are saying. I was thinking that after my post.
