From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 5

Safe travels to all those leaving soon. Look forward to seeing you around the Wonder!!!

Ok, FE people. I have a question.

I'm putting the final touches on the door magnets but for names, I'm wondering if people want Dis Names or if first names are ok? I know there are some FE rooms without a disboard name, and I know there are lots of people without disboard names in the rooms, so I was thinking first names. What do you guys think?

Love it! First names definitely.

I think first names would be fun.

Ok, 96 out of 98 done. (97 FE people, plus BIL who did the drawing). Just waiting on 2 PM responses to clear up a couple of things.

HELP

I haven't not heard back from DCL regarding the date, time and location for the Champagne Girls and Mixology sessions. They confirmed $18 per person per event and that they would do them.

I would assume the earliest I might hear back is Monday. I know many of those signed-up will not have a chance to opt-out if they don't like the schedule before they leave for travel. Do I give DCL the list, as I have it, and let them issue tickets and post the charge?

IS THERE ANYONE WHO DOESN'T WANT ME TO DO THIS AND WANTS THEIR NAME TAKEN OFF?

I think I have been very patient, sent a note once a week, called only once. I don't think this is very fair. In September they told me they would start working on the January schedule in November. This Monday they said they would have the arrangement finalized by last Tuesday. I explained I was holding off planning the schedule for the room tour and other people had things on hold because we were waiting on them. This is just not right.

Your thoughts?

If DCL won't drop the charge for no shows because of their inability to get a ships schedule together, I'm pretty sure that people lining up at guest services would get it fixed. I wouldn't worry. We're a flexible bunch and I'll keep my schedules as updated as possible.

FYI, this is what I sent to DCL today.

"Its now less than a week from sailing. Do we have any ideas yet? To say that this is disappointing is an understatement for something that we originally thought would be resolved at the beginning of November."

Happy Goofy---we are on our way towards you today!:cool1:

We rented a small car so Tony and I can be more flexible. Won't do all days at park but will make use of free dining:banana:

I'd you want to get together during the week let me know and we'll put our heads together. Tony and Doug hoping to go to Cape Canaveral one day. LAdies staying behind to shop/spa/tea at Grand Floridian.

Brooklyn--send me message so we can work out some time together :cheer2: and ressies for le cellier. Safe travels :littleangel:

Holly--see ya tomorrow for tea!!

I think its a joke, they are taking the preverbial.

They would NOT take a charge of for my martini tastings, I am sure they swapped days as it wasnt the day I thought I was going, but I didnt want to upset the lady who orginized it so paid and shut up, but they were very adament.

Well, here's the deal. If I don't hear from Disney by COB on Monday, I'm going to tell them to forget about it. I'll spend the first two days collecting clean wine glasses and we'll just gather at the Promenade Lounge at 2PM on the first Saturday.

I'm sure we'll make it all work out.

This board is great! I've read most of the post and now have some packing ideas....I never thought of bringing an extension cord, what a fantastic idea! We have so many things that will need charged that an extension cord will make life easier.

My question, does anyone know what type of plugs they have at the desk? Is it a 3 prong or 2 prong for the US plug?

I have not packed anything yet, but I know what I need to pack and sort of have piles here or there....do not want to over pack!

I wish I could do that with the Champagne Girls and mixology. We could have if we knew we were going that way from the beginning. Especially with the mixology we are at DCL's mercy or I should spell it misery.

I can't help but compare it to the way I was treated by Princess when I organized a meet and greet for the cruise critic thread. I was assured a lounge, and snacks for free, also a bartender for a no-host bar months before the cruise. There was a letter in my suite when I came onboard offering to help with the event. ALL the officers came by and the cruise director stayed for 30 minutes. I couldn't believe it. I love Disney - it is always my first choice but come on guys.

It is a US - we bring a power strip and extension cord. The socket is across the room from the bed.

I have heard of others also bringing duct tape to take the cord down so it's not a tripping hazard. I don't have room for a whole roll of duct tape...so that won't be us. ;)

I am with you.
I also have 3 other requests on your sailing waiting as well.
This past couple of months has been extremely hard for getting anything confirmed.
The Wonder is very well aware of your request and needs, they just haven't confirmed a location yet.
For other dates lately, I had to refer them to the Groups Manager onboard to finalize their plans with him once they got onboard.
If the ship does not confirm anything today, I will not be available until Tuesday afternoon.
The Groups Manager onboard is Jerome Hayden and he can be contacted through Guest Services on the ship. He has all your information so if it gets to a point where you are leaving and they haven't confirmed anything with you, he is your contact.
I am hoping to have something for you before you leave.

Stay safe this weekend."

On the WBTA we did the Champagne Girls in a suite. The host just called room service and they delivered racks of glasses - now it did take a while for them to get there and I justed washed glasses to reuse until they came. I am not suggesting we use your room only that you can ask for a rack of them.

Or after the first nights show we can send the kids out to find glasses people leave outside the showroom and pay them 5 cents a piece for them.
