I lost my show jumping horse 10 years ago due to colic and it took a very long time to get over him. If you ever see the movie Something to Talk About. They grey horse was mine. We now have 2 cats Dixie and Pixie. Dixie is huge 20 pounds and is big boned! When I had her fixed she became mean toward people. She loves my husband and I but any other person in the house and you don't know there is 20 lb cat living here! Humans are much ahrder to deal with. I would gladly take an horse or a cat over a mad old lady that is confused and walking down the hall with her catheter bag in hand thinking she is going to walmart at 1130pm in the middle of shift change!
Its s sad to loose a horse, not sure you ever get over it.. but you deal with it.
That is so true, and we rarely do those things.....I still can't wait....

Oh and remember goodies from cove cafe, every night we had pre dinner drinks and crackers and cheese from cove cafe and grapes from plutos,
:yay::yay::banana::banana::cool1::cool1:
getting over excited here in edinburgh!

I was just thinking - always gets me in trouble. A number of people mentioned they liked the idea of getting recipes on their post card exchange. What if people who sign up for a recipe exchange and Gail kept track of them, (thanks for offering to take this on). Then we each bring enough copies of our recipe for the number of people who want to participate. I'd make up a cover for each of us. Basically, we'd end up with a recipe book from our cruise.

Any interest? To late to take on one more thing? val

That sounds good. I would love to do it. I might even bring more than 1 recipe!

OMG....I'm gone for a week and it takes almost that long to catch up!!!:rotfl:

Holly, I went to the Emporium on Tuesday and they said you had left just before I got there. Sorry I missed you and hope you are feeling better.

Stephanie, I left your number at home and did not have internet access. We'll get together on the ship. Hope you had a great time at WDW.

Val, omg, your poor kitty. I will be praying for all of you. Also, Val, I will PM you with info.

DOCUMENTS CAME yesterday! They were all correct and the baggage tags were there!!! I'm a happy camper. :dance3::dance3::dance3:

I have made a list, it's quite long, and now I have to get to it.....no more playing around. With my son in Africa through the season I want to help out with my two grandchildren some so their mom can get somethings done also. So, that will take a loving portion of my time.

My son in Phoenix wants us to come down the week before Christmas since he will be working over Christmas.

My DH wants to leave the port on the day the cruise gets into LA and fly directly to Seattle for the boat show. Last year when we went it was snowing, so that means an extra suitcase with winter clothes.....YIKES! and then I return to LA on the Jan 27th for CHA Convention. I might get one day at home in between ....... my head is spinning!

Hope you all have a great week and a PRODUCTIVE one also!

Judy

I just read what is going on.....I NEED another me! (I don't think my DH could handle that though....hahahaha)

I so wish I had thought of this a month ago - I happily would have printed them and brought along copies but I don't have time at this point, to gt it done before we leave on the 21st. So Val, I will happily keep a list if you want to do the covers. I guess size is the only thing I need to know. I can print mine and bring them along. Someone gave us a little recipe book as a FE gift last November and I love that little book. Dang I wish we had thought of this before.

OK, those interested in exchanging recipes, please send me a PM - name and cabin and I will post it periodically. But, in case I miss posts, do send a PM. I will also shoot Linda a PM so she can get it into one of the first posts.

Very cute dresses!

I bought this shirt off eBay for less than $5 inlcuding shipping. I just searched for "Embroidered" under women's clothing - shirts. Oh, how I  eBay when I'm looking for something unique. I'm just going to wear it with some pants or skirt I already have. I still can't decide waht I'm doing for Prince & Pricess night. I really dont' want to bring another formal dress. I'm thinking abotu just packing the Mickey ear princess hat I have and just wear it with a simple dress.

Another great eBay find this week. I'm sooo excited I finally found a Disney robe I like for DH for Christmas! We like to use are spa during the winter and poor DH has been wearing my powder blue robe to cover up when we get out. :lmao: That's all he's getting for Christmas so I hope he likes it, this cruise is our main Christmas gifts this year.

I love the shirt and the gown. Gotta love Ebay.

Is anyone else besides Eilean and I taking your "stuffies"? (Teddy bears, kitties, etc?) Carol was going to arrange a get together and photo shoot with our pets, but sadly they had to cancel early on. Dimples and I were wondering if there was any interest in such a meet.

We are bringing our bunnies. We have 4 stuffed Bunnies that are going everywhere with us. They are well loved, but I would not go on a cruise without them.

Hi there,

I have the following scheduled to pick up thier lanyards at the terminal/ship. The rest have been mailed out. (everyone should have recieved them by now with the exception of the 4 who paid me last week or so - those went out today) If you prefer to have them mailed to you - please let me know ASAP. I also have paid next to those who have paid for thier lanyards already but are picking them up at the port. If you have paid and I don't have it posted - please let me know so we can track it down but I think everything is correct based on what people PM'd me on thier choice. If you have decided to pay in advance - you can still do that. If you still wish to pay at the port - that's no problem at all - I just ask that you have exact change and in cash please.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I knew I had forgotten something. I will Paypal you the money tomorrow.

I am also wondering....while the schedule on page 1 is helpful it doesn't really tell me what outfits are required...can someone shed some light? I am guessing we need:
1 formal
1 semi formal
1 pirate
1 mexican
but I am probably wrong, haha. Can anyone tell us for sure.

Also, my docs came today! :dance3: I so wish I could have been more active on here :( My life has been one crazy ball of stress! I am trying to get down to things now since we are barely a month out though! I have been sick with bronchitis after already having it for 5 weeks in September. I have been out on temporary medical leave and am going crazy! I won't be performing in this weekends candlelight performance as previously stated since I am not allowed on property during medical leave. Just hoping all this sickness clears up before our vacation. Hope everyone else is doing well and looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Holly

I will pack two formal dresses, one semi-formal dress and my Pirate outfit. I am hoping to get a Mexican dress at the first Mexican port.

Yesterday we took our cat to the vets because he has been dropping weight. I had brought him in in October and they said he was fine. Yesterday they said he hadn't lost that much but agreed he had gotten real bony fast. They told me they thought it was thyroid since he is fine accept for some vomiting and the weight issue. The new young vet just called to say it isn't thyroid. She thinks it is lymphoma and wants us in tomorrow to do a sonagram.

I feel so sad, I've had him 10 years and he is such a dear. I don't want him to go through anything painful, especially if there is little hope. I am a strong believer that if you assume responsibility for a pet you have to take responsibility completely, not just when it is convenient to do so. Do I cancel the trip and start him on chemo? I guess I just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

There is always something. val

I so sorry to hear about you cat. Let's hope the treatment will work and keep him comfortable.

I deal with stress by eating, I can barely get my jeans zipped. But----it isn't going to stop me from shopping next Saturday bright and early. The Ghiradelli Chocolate factory (the real one where they make the stuff - you gain 5 pounds just breathing) is in San Leandro, about 30 min. from San Francisco. They have an outlet store where in addition to the left over stuff they sell their stuff by the bulk. Chocolate to cook with by the block, specialty stuff like their hot chocolate mix (yum) and hot chocolate with mint (yum yum). Ever flavor of bit size chocolates individually wrapped for stocking stuffers. Next Saturday is their annual sale and because I am such a VIP (sucker) they sent me a coupon for another 20% off - Guess what all our doctor's nurses, receptionists, the mail man, etc. is getting?

That would be the death of me. I love the Ghirardelli Peanut Butter chocolate. Unfortunately I can't get it in the UK.

I need everyone's good thoughts and pixie dust!

Tomorrow - we take our three foster puppies to a big adoption event here in Irvine. We have had these little loves for over 4 months and I really want them to get furever homes!

They are now 6 month old and it's definitely time for them to have a place they can call thier own.

I hope that they will find a good home.

While in Dallas, Jarrod's brother wanted to go ahead and give the kids their Christmas presents. He got Haley Epic Mickey. She's just now trying it out and I can't wait to watch her play it and play it myself!

Graham got me Epic Mickey yesterday. I have not had a chance to try it yet.

CHA !!! I want to go if you can shop!:rotfl:

OH, ME TOO!

Cookie Recipes - I'll bring one -

or, we could do what one cruise I was on did - AFTER the cruise - send them electronically to one person who assembled them in a word document and sent them out to each person who had participated. Then they could print them - or not, as they chose.

What do you think?

I think the one we got last year was quarter sheet size, wasn't it, Gail?

Pick the cat up and cradle in the crook of your left arm as if holding a baby. Position right forefinger and thumb on either side of cat's mouth and gently apply pressure to cheeks while holding pill in right hand. As cat opens mouth pop pill into it, allow cat to close mouth and swallow.

Retrieve pill from floor and cat from behind the sofa. Cradle cat in left arm and repeat process.

Retrieve cat from bedroom and throw soggy pill away. Take new pill from foil wrap, cradle cat in left arm holding rear paws tightly with left hand. Force jaws open and push pill to back of mouth with right forefinger. Hold mouth shut for a count of ten.

Retrieve pill from goldfish bowl and cat from top of wardrobe. Call partner in from garden. Kneel on floor with cat wedged firmly between knees, hold front and rear paws. Ignore low growls emitted by cat. Get partner to hold head firmly with one hand while forcing wooden ruler into mouth. Drop pill down ruler and rub cat's throat vigorously.

Retrieve cat from curtain rail, get another pill from the foil wrap. Make note to buy a new ruler and repair curtains. Carefully sweep shattered 'Dolton' figurines from hearth and set to one side for gluing later. Wrap cat in large towel and get partner to lie on cat with head just visible from below armpit. Put pill in end of drinking straw, force cat's mouth open with pencil and blow down drinking straw.

Check label to make sure pills not harmful to humans, drink glass of water to take taste away. Apply plaster to partners forearm and remove blood from carpet with cold water and soap. Retrieve cat from neighbours shed and get another pill. Place cat in cupboard and close door onto neck to leave head showing. Force mouth open with dessert spoon and flick pill down throat with elastic band.

Fetch screwdriver from garage and put door back on hinges. Apply cold compress to cheek and check records for date of last tetanus jab. Throw t-shirt away and fetch new one from bedroom. Ring fire brigade to retrieve cat from tree across the road and apologise to neighbour who crashed into fence while swerving to avoid the cat. Take last pill from foil wrap. Tie cats front paws to rear paws with garden twine and bind tightly to leg of dining table, find heavy duty pruning gloves from shed and pry cat's mouth open with a small spanner. Push pill into mouth followed by a large piece of fillet steak. Hold head vertically and pour a pint of water down throat to wash down pill.

Get partner to drive you to the Emergency Room and sit quietly while doctor stitches fingers and forearms and removes pill remnants from right eye. Call at furniture shop on way home to order new table.

I am hurting myself, laughing way to hard ... :rotfl2:

I agree Linda, I do think it is quarter. And, I like how it is bound. I am all for either option actually. Sending copies after the cruise means none of us are carrying anything extra in our luggage. Thoughts??

Hope my dear American friends enjoy the rest of your weekend:cheer2:
See you all real soon:woohoo:

I agree Linda, I do think it is quarter. And, I like how it is bound. I am all for either option actually. Sending copies after the cruise means none of us are carrying anything extra in our luggage. Thoughts??

I put it at the top of the first post - and invited people to comment here about their choice of deliver.

One thing, if we do it after the fact, it would be a method by which the cruise could be kept alive . . . or I suppose someone who knew what they were doing could start a facebook group or something and we could just post them to it. Please note I am rambling here, not expressing an opinion:rotfl2:

I had a nice lunch with Tinksmom yesterday to pick up my bracelets. The bracelets are awesome! I so enjoyed meeting you Tenya and your daughter. You gave me a few good ideas about the trip, Thank you so much.

Val, I have you and your cat in my prayers. I am so sorry to here about the cat. I hope all turns out well for you.

Mom, did you get ours too?

Mom, you can bring one from you and one from me ..... :rolleyes1 ... Just trying to help ... :worship:

Thought I would bring grandma's fruit cake cookies for 1.. they are so yummy even if you don't like fruitcake!

I'll bring one for you too sweetie.

We went down to the port tonight to see the Wonder sail out. It was very COLD and windy. There were few people out on deck. I was thinking that will be our home for two weeks. Love to hear the horn blow.

I would be in for a cookie exchange recipe book. Either way of delivery is fine by me.

Last week for the cruise I bought a bottle of Glenmorangie ......... meaning
The Glen of Tranquility
SO............. who wants to come to 5009 for pre dinner drinkies on the 13th?
There wont be a lot of choice but I can promise bud, wine or whiskey:thumbsup2
How many can we fit in a cat 11 state room? might be fun trying to find out?
Anytakers? I am on late dinner so was thinking 7ish?
If theres too many we can spill next door to Mums.
I should tell Len and Mum my plans:laughing:

We're on main dining, but will try to pop in.

Lynne and Val your're cracking me up with the pill stories. My son walked in while I was reading them, found me laughing and thought I was going a little nutty.

DH was called into work so we didn't make it to Ghirardelli today.:sad2:
