27 chilly degrees here, but no snow.



Yes, the porters can fix it at port -I always need more and believe me, I tip them VERY well

Val, enjoy your shopping trip.

Not much new today.

Still no docs.

All the fun preparations for the holidays are done.

I guess I'll do the filing and clean out the papers for years end so when I come home it will be relatively easy to do the taxes.

And I should bake some cookies. Kinda lost the enthusiasm for that since I can't eat them by the handful any more.

Wow, y'all had me nervous, but my doc's are all correct. I did notice that ashore in LA is 930. does anyone know = does that mean all have to be off by then or that's when they expect to start ...deshipping (i can't think of hte right words, just deplaning for getting off a plane...)

Last week for the cruise I bought a bottle of Glenmorangie ......... meaning
The Glen of Tranquility
SO............. who wants to come to 5009 for pre dinner drinkies on the 13th?
There wont be a lot of choice but I can promise bud,wine or whiskey
How many can we fit in a cat 11 state room? might be fun trying to find out?
Anytakers? I am on late dinner so was thinking 7ish?
If theres too many we can spill next door to Mums.

I love birthday parties - we will for sure stop by.

Well, a bit more snow this morning but not much. Only in the 20's so all in all, that isn't too bad either. I went through our cruise docs and all seems to be in order and we both have luggage tags. i guess I should go and do some - did a load last night that is still in the washer. I think that next weekend I will begin to pack, at least the cruise (dinner clothes and such) suitcase so that will be done. Day wear will be the same so that can wait until the following weekend. Only 11 more work days until we leave - yippee.

Tweekie is eating up a storm - the prednisolone is suppose to make him hungry.

It is Dungeness Crab season and the local store has them for $2 a pound, they are about 2 pounds each. What I don't like is cleaning and picking them and the worst is getting rid of the shells and inner stuff without stinking up the area or having the local wildlife (yes in San Francisco we have wildlife) going through the garbage. The meat is sweeter then other crabs - so good. We are having pasta and crab, with lemon, basil, olive oil and cherry tomatoes for dinner tonight. Of course sour dough bread too Yum

I am going to try a new cookie recipe - Garam Masala spice cookies. I picked up a bottle of the spices at Morrisons on Gilbralter - loved loved loved that store - couldn't find it here. In addition to the garam masala it has a lot of fresh grated ginger and coco. Will let you know how they are.

Lathrop is only about an hour from us so that's much closer. Hmm, then I could take DH to the Bass Pro Shop too. May need a roadtrip tomorrow!

My parents live in Lodi. I go to the Lathrop outlet everytime I go there. Try the chocolate croissants, yummmmmy

I was thinking that, how we could do it, I am sure you will have time, bring your sweet with you, although you are more than welcome to bring something there is no need, I will keep a count just so I can get glasses from room service

Our Documents came on Saturday.....woohoo, it's really getting close!

We did not get great air though, I have to learn not to book through the cruise lines.....We have a connecting flight through Atlanta even though there are non stop flights to MCO for $79 one way....boohoo! I just have to not think about it and enjoy getting to the port by 2:00 PM....we have 15 full days on the ship!

How nice to ask but I wouldn't have you do that - now if you asked if we want to come shop at yours - that I might take you up on someday. Robert loves the fruit jellies you get there. I love the package "from taveners PROPER SWEETS". I wonder what an improper sweet would be?

I know it is weird but when we travel I always hit the grocery stores - my favorite place to people watch, real locals not other visitors, and buy local gifts. When we visit New Orleans I go the grocery store and buy Camilla Red Beans - 10 pounds. It is the only red beans that don't fall apart when you make red beans and rice. I haven't found Camilla beans any where else. The TSA gives me strange looks when they find a bag full of dried beans and file' seasoning.

How funny. I have to go to all the local stores too, I like to check out the bakeries. I plan on checking out Walmart at the first mexican stop for cheap tequila--margaritas another yum

DD2 has been on high doses of prednisone a LOT. unfortunately. Its the only time she eats - and i go to BJs or Costco to get food for her!! she EATS.

speaking of eating, i can be there in about 4 hours fro some of that crab-the whole meal sounds WONDERful! (amazing how many times we use that word!)
