Happy Hanukkah to those celebrating!

We now have two additional dogs as my DD & DSIL going through a rough spot and neither are working so they've moved and couldn't take their labs. Last night was rough as they were barking at everything around here. On my way home from work I picked up kennels and tonight I've put them in our garage and so far they've been pretty good. Wish me luck! I'd like more than an hour of sleep tonight.

Still no cruise docs here. I called DCL today and the said the docs have been processed and will come directly here, not to Dreams Unlimited. Then I called Dreams and checked on transfers. They had us listed from MCO to the port and the port to MCO. I had to have it changed since none of it worked.

Hi all. So I am sitting here at home watching Star Trek: Enterprise. In the fourth and final season I have realized they came up with a great way to have the Romulans in the show. This is a great three episode arc.

I am also wondering....while the schedule on page 1 is helpful it doesn't really tell me what outfits are required...can someone shed some light? I am guessing we need:

but I am probably wrong, haha. Can anyone tell us for sure.

Can't wait until we get to our house in Merritt Island. This has been a very long and tense trip for me. Luckily my husband is the laid back type and nothing bothers him.

Oh, you found it! Well, nobody tells you exactly what to wear, babe! If you're sitting at my table, I'll be happy if you don't show up on formal night in ratty jeans, shirt tail hanging out, and a baseball hat, like one of our tablemates did once.

HaHa.... maybe that is as formal as that guy gets.. I had the same thing happen on one of my cruises... just don't understand some people...

Still no cruise docs. Got an email response from DU she says Disney mailed the docs to me on Nov 22!!! Calling Disney now.



On another completely different note, I need some therapy from you all. My kids all of them are having financial difficulties, this was a bad year for us medically/financially, wedding expenses and cruise expenses. I am going thru a bit of depression now, feeling like I dont deserve to go on this cruise since the kids are having trouble. Now they are hurting, sets of kids are living in houses we bought and not paying us, so they have roofs over their heads and have food. Is it just the holiday stress that is freaking me out? Help

POSTCARD EXCHANGE WILL BE CLOSING ON MONDAY, 12-6-10
How it works: cruisers buy postcards of their area/country/town/city etc. and deliver them to each person/cabin on the list. Some people elect to make their own postcard using photos they have taken. Others print local recipes on a card. It is great fun to come back to your cabin and find mail.

UPDATE: The Postcard Exchange will be closed on Monday, 12-6-10. Please review the following list of 30 cruisers in 29 cabins. If any of the information is incorrect, you would like to note a specific request, or you wish to be added or deleted from the list, PM me by end of day Monday. The final list will be posted on Tuesday. Val

Thats the only one I like because I love porthos and Cpt Archer in no particular order, thats how I managed to convince len to get beagles, talking about beagles, Ruby went of on one for 2 hours today, just what I want, looking for her up the woods in 2 foot on snow coughing my head off, after several laps of the forest she was exactly where she went missing, she is a toad, I will never learn.

It sounds to me that you have done so much for your children if you have bought them houses and they aren't paying anything that really it is time for yourself now and time to just enjoy your vacation. You need a break from worrying about them. I know we never do, but there are limits!!

CHAMPAGNE GIRLS UPDATE – Calling all Champagne Girls and Wanna-bes (all are welcome)
How it Works: Ladies wear pink boas and tiaras and enjoy conversation and beverages, especially champagne. The meeting is held on a sea day in the afternoon. Some sessions have been privately hosted in a member's suite with concierge-provided glasses. On some cruises DCL provided an organized champagne tasting; on one cruise this was provided by the Sommelier from Palo. We have had our own photographer, while other times a photographer from Shutters was in attendance.

Panama Canal Champagne Girls Celebration - The PC cruise ladies have voted for an organized tasting but, if this is not possible, will meet on our own. Of course the event will be captured for posterity, by a photographer from Shutters and/or our own. DCL Request Department representative, Dorothy Ednie, has advised that our reputation precedes us and that she has scheduled Champagne Girls events before. I have sent her a count of 50 as the number of ladies who have indicated they will attend.

UPDATE: This week DCL has advised us of the following: “The space has been requested but nothing has come back to me yet. I don’t see at this point why they would not approve it. They usually confirm space at the last minute so it is nothing to be concerned about at this time... The cost is usually $15. Once the guest commits they will be charged whether they attend or not. The charge will go to their room onboard. Your event will most likely happen we just don’t know where yet. They haven’t turned anyone down yet… I will need the names and room numbers of those attending.”

The following ladies are packing their pink boas and tiaras in anticipation of confabulation and libations, especially champagne, and of course amazing merrymaking. While I will not be sending any participant specific information to DCL until I get the final confirmation and post the info, giving you a opportunity to change or rescind your request. I do need to collect the information DCL is requested, your reservation name and cabin numbers. Please review the list, and PM me with your information if you have not already done so (green indicates info received).

Mixology and Hawaiian Shirt Contest Update
How It Works: Are you interested in a private DCL mixology tasting? Learn all about how those colorful drinks of the day are made and just who gets to name them. For some additional fun, we’ll have a Hawaiian Shirt Contest, seems to go with all those little paper umbrellas and tropical fruit.

Update: DCL has been advised that the number interested in a private mixology, drink of the day, tasting is now at 69. Old lady here. In my opinion, at some point in their lives, you have to cut them loose and not take their stresses on to yourself. Presumably they are all out of high school and on their own, making their own choices. No doubt, times are tough. The tough will get through them. Some people only learn by experience (I was one of them). I, personally, not only would NOT bail them out, nor would I feel guilty over it.

If you've had the tough year you say - you DO deserve this cruise! And when your kids are your age, they will have weathered the current storm, and can take their OWN cruise.

I do think the holidays and having the cruise so close after them is also freaking me out, I'm way bah humbug this year. I've been feeling the same way with my DD/DSIL both not working and my sister that is struggling to pay us (she rents our mobilehome on our 15 acres). I've been trying really hard to stay out of their troubles, but caved on taking DD dogs. Then on the other hand I don't like some of the choices they make like having the latest and greatest phone/internet when I go without satelite and smartphones so I can travel. We're both going to take the advice of the others and have a wonderful cruise. See you on board neighbor!
