Let me see what I can clear up for you. First off this is not a merger. We are buying them. We will operate separately for about 2 years until we can intergrate them into SWA. We have said we are not closing any of their cities. I personally don't believe it, but we will see. My guess is we will evaluate each little Air Tran city and go from there. Basicly when it is all said and done, Air Tran will be a thing of the past. Also
We already said all of their fees are the first thing to go.

Please don't close the Huntsville Airtran!!!! We just now got a low cost carrier and we don't want to go back to Delta. You can change it over to Southwest, just don't take away our low cost carrier!!!!

Please excuse my AL. geography ignorance. How close to Birgingham is Huntsville?

Worse...go GIANTS!!! I'm originally a Nor Cal girl! But, my second favorite team would be the Padres. There was a time (during my growing up years), when SF dominated sports. Unfortunately, that time is NOT now =0(

I'm a Nor Cal girl too so it's go A's first, got to support my River Cats players and second is the Giants.

I got no prob with the A's what so ever, as a matter of fact I love the fact they denied the Giants a world series title in 89. As far as the Giants go, well as far as I am concerned they can leave the face of this planet and I might hold a party.

hooray for fees being gone! do you know if once AT isgone will you be able to choose particular seats or will it all be the SW way? personally at five feet tall i dont care but as i;ve said DH does! but i love that airfare can go down or be used later for no fees! and free bags!! we get to airport so early and we'd buy our tickets early (mostly) that,,,,well i dont know how it works getting on sw now as dh wont. but used to be earlier check in got earlier boarding. we'd do that too.

Jeff, hope you are feeling better real soon!

Honestly I'm not a big Southwest fan, I dont like not having my seat assignment but I'll take Southwest anyday over Spirit. Hope Southwest decides to keep ACY then if it comes to that.

There will be no assigned seats.

My wife hated SWA before I started working for them for the same reason. Now her mind set is, as long as I am on, I could care less were I sit as we all get there at the same time.

I just hate how everyone freaks out about getting a certain seat and tries to break the rules (or they are too dumb to follow them to begin with) with regard to boarding according to your group letter/number. I flew SW last month from Denver, I was something like A29. I was on the phone talking to my mother, standing at the correct place in the A row and pole for 25-30. Some middle aged guy and his wife, they looked very snooty, actually had the nerve to tap on my shoulder and interupt my phone conversation- I turned to address them, and he says "what number are you?" and I answered "29". He then makes a big ta-do about showing me his and his wife's boarding pass and pronounces, "we are 25 and 26, so we should be in front of you." I laughed and said, get a grip, its a group that we board under, 25-30, not sequential order, and its not going to make or break anyone that I'm standing in front of you". I went back to my phone call with my mom and heard them barking loudly behind me on purpose so i could hear them make a point of saying "she is adamant about getting on in front of us." Whatever. People like that are the reason I cant stand SW and prefer to have my seat assigned on other airlines, just to not deal with the idiots out there. People have way too much time on their hands these days to pick fights over stupid stuff like that, and I dont have the patience for it. If it werent for people like that, I wouldnt mind SW's model at all. I could care less where in the plane I sit as long as its an aisle so that I can get up because I use the bathroom a lot and while I used to love window seats, one flight I actually had 2 rude people next to me who would not get up to let me out and i had to literally climb over them, so ever since then I make sure to get an aisle seat.

Anyway so thats my story with SW. But I hate Spirit with a passion because of their absurd fees for everything and anything, so if SW does stick with ACY, I'll be happy with that.

Now here is the funny thing. You both were right. Of course those people were not the norm for us.

Well just remember, you won't get the SWA brand for about 2 years, I look forward to welcoming you aboard.

We keep hearing Southwest is coming to Charleston, SC. Do you know if this is true? I keep hoping someday I could get a good rate from Pittsburgh, PA to Charleston, SC. You never know what you are going to pay:confused3

You are so right about the boarding process! Some people just can't get the picture. When the plane lands everyone on board is there! Even Jasmine knows that. She is a really good traveler...20 flights for her so far!

Yes, we are to open there sometime next year. That's all I know as of now.

Quick Fish Extender Question:

I noticed that there are more than 50 staterooms participating in the FE exchange :cool1:

So do we all put stuff in everyones FE or are we assigned certain people? I've never done a FE and I am really excited about it so I am starting to shop :woohoo:

Also what kind of items are best for a FE echange I have a few ideas already, but I'd love more ideas

Thanks so much for all that are putting all of this together

I would care less where i sit, as long as the people next to me use their seat and not half of mine. but my 6 foot husband believes he needs tons of leg room instead of just an aisle to stretch his legs in. he'll survive. based on prices i see, i suspect we'll be useing sw as we fly bwi and i cant imagine anyone being cheaper. and more flexible. hope they dont lose that!

Does someone have "Jeff's" DISname? We want to sign up for the FE exchange.

Is there anyone who purchased their cruise after the Secret Mickey's were assigned that would still like to participate? I would be happy to try to coordinate round two if there is anyone else out there.

Thanks!
