From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 3

One of our friend's kids goes to John Marshall. The other two graduated from there and one is at WVU and the other at Marshall.

We are staying at PPH after the cruise. We have family in San Diego and they are going to join us for one of our days at DL.

Where are you staying?

We are staying at the same hotel! We have friends from a previous Disney Cruise that will be meeting us at some point during our stay.

My grandson that plays football goes to Brooke High and that is where I used to work.

Can anyone direct me to a website that lists the excursions for the cruise, I searched all over the DCL site but couldn't find them I wanna be prepared for when we can finally book! I feel so behind in all my planning for this cruise. With all the new changes in our life this cruise has sort of taken a backseat and now I need to play catch up! Thanks to any and all who can help me out! I saw the first post had some info and I will be contacting you folks soon to sign up for various exciting activities!

Holly. Just go to the main DCL page. Under cruises and destinations it says port adventures. Click on that. On the next page there is a scroll down menu. You can pick any port from there.

As someone who goes to DL almost weekly, I must say I think PPH has the best bargain at DL. The PCH Grill. We always go there for dinner on pin trading nights. My wife, mom, and I can go for about 30 bucks. For a sit down table service Disney, that is pretty good.

I booked the transfers from DW and to DL in Oct when I booked the cruise. I think it was $65 per person. We are staying at BCV and my Mom will be staying with us for 4 nights and leave to fly home on Jan 6. We fly in on Sunday Jan 2. We will be at KV in 43 days! Have 4 nights there before our Carnival Dream cruise.

We are also staying at Beach Club before the cruise. Is anyone else? We are coming in January 4.

We are staying at the same hotel! We have friends from a previous Disney Cruise that will be meeting us at some point during our stay.

We should be able to spot each other in the hotel after 15 days on a cruise toegether!LOL

It was your post that prompted me to call DCL. When I asked at the time we booked the cruise no one was sure what the transportation would be like. So thank you very much, because now all aspects of this cruise have been planned, from the time we leave home until we arrive back home. (well maybe not all but the travel ones are taken care of.

I've been trying to get a quick trip to DL together for next weekend as I won 4 tickets to Verizon's World of Color Private Party at DCA for next Friday. No DVC room for Friday night, but I did get an AP rate for the DLH. It's a long drive, but I'd love to see WOC. We'll see what I can work out.

I'll keep you in mind. As of right now I'm not sure who is going besides DH and I. Our DD wants to go, but I'm not sure DSIL can get off and I'm waiting to hear if her friend in San Diego will be around. So you never know I might have 2 tickets. I should know more by Tues.

Maybe not all but the travel ones are taken care of.

I felt such relief to have transportation taken care of, now on to Palo!

I've been looking at ExecuCar private van service through www.execucar.com when I called for the 4 of us adults the one way to VGC was $67.

Thanks, I took a quick look at their website and it looks like they do not provide car seats for DD. Since it's a car and not a bus, they require you to bring your own.

Question about DCL transportation: If we book this, do they take care of our luggage at GC? I wouldn't mind paying the extra $ if I knew I would be checked in or at least have the luggage taken care of when we got there. It would give us more time to enjoy DL on Friday. Not sure how this works and we will be arriving well before check in time.

They just released FL resident rates on the 11nt Wonder for 12/18...keeping our fingers crossed!!

We're staying at BWI for 8 nights prior to the cruise, and I'll be booking Happy Limo for transfer to PC. We'd like to get to PC early - if anyone wants to join us, let me know, and we can book a mini bus.

It's blowing a gale here today - no picnic lunch for FD ! Yum cha instead

I would think DCL transfers would take care of the lugguage, but I've never used them.

Regardless of how you get there Bell Services will hold your lugguage until your room is ready and you call to have them bring it to the room.

When we used DCL transfers previously they always took care of our luggage. I surely hope that has not changed. One more thing to check on!!

People who are wanting to plan for their Fish extender gift exchange . . .

"The cruise website will have a column for FE participants. There will NOT be a seperate FE list."

Here are my thoughts on how many to make/acquire:

According to Jeff, we have 266 people in 99 staterooms. I'd guess roughly 85-90% of them will participate in the fe exchange. I am planning for 100-120. I'd rather have a few left over to hand out with my tips or give to non-disers than to underestimate.

This is just me - i'm sure our FE's will overflow with bounty. Or is that overflow ON the bounty. Either way - there'll be enough stuff to satisfy the most rapacious pirate.

We're about to head out for the day, but just quickly - I haven't added our details for the FE (will do it this afternoon). We'll be a party of six in two cabins.

The family has decided the picnic's a go...... Ack !
